I just saw Rainbow Rocks... O_O · 10:38pm Oct 17th, 2014
...so this blog entry will most likely contain spoilers for the movie. Stop reading here if you haven't seen it yet, O.K.? I'm serious.
...Okay, I assume the rest of you who kept reading after the warning want to know my crazy headcanon theory, so here goes: The Dazzlings (Siren Girls, Aria, Adagio, and Sonata, whatever) have got to be Discord's daughters. Why, you may ask?
Simple. Their M.O.
Seriously, I mean, just look at it. It matches, to a T, something pre-reformed Discord actually performed on the Cutie Mark Crusaders just prior to his breakout in "Return of Harmony, Part I." (Granted, in Canterlot High it resulted in angrily boastful arguments rather than the Big-Ball-O'-Violence knock-down-drag-out the Crusaders got into in front of Discord's statue, but hey, strife is strife, isn't it?) The top thing on my mind as I watched them work their mojo during the cafeteria scene was James 3:16: " For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice." Strife seems to be not only the Sirens' goal in life, but their food source as well.
Material for a one-shot someday? Hmmm...
(Now spoilertagged for an extra layer of protection from uninformed eyes! )
It took me four hours to watch that movie just because of all the cringe sprinkled throughout it. But overall, it was much better than the first movie. The ending, though, felt glued together and hastily written. Like they ran out of time and couldn't give it as much attention as they'd given the rest of the movie.
Gonna have to disagree with your headcanon, though not due to any evidence. Just personal preference.
All those background character cameos tho
