Story Progress, Site Upgrades and Thoughts On The Last Story I Read

So it's been about week since I joined and well...the last blog I wrote was about how unmotivated, uninspired and downright bored I was. So I decided that since it had been four days since the last blog post I thought I might give you all a quick update as to what's been going on lately. But first I must address one very obvious change recently and that is the fact that Fimfiction is officially sexy!

I am loving the changes they've made, the new designs, the bookshelves and they have fine-tuned a lot of things to make them better. Sure, there are a couple of bugs like the 502 errors that were constantly occurring earlier today but I give Knighty and all of the coders working on this site a pat on the back. The site looks awesome and I couldn't be more pleased with it.

Now on to the more important stuff. So I sat down last Sunday and wrote about a thousand words about an interesting little tea party between Fluttershy, Discord and Rarity. I know it sounds corny but I really wanted to write a story about a tea party. In the same way I would simply love to write about a dentist appointment in which the patient has a crush on the dentist and I would also like to write about a mysterious glass box and a pony waking up to find themselves trapped in it. Kind of like the opening of the Maze Runner actually.

So I sent my draft to Cerulean for some editing a few days ago and so hopefully either tonight or tomorrow I will be able to go through and make some major changes. I also asked the community for some advice on writing Discord's character and that did give me a few ideas.

Now lastly, I shall give a short review of a story I've read recently and even though this was a spontaneous idea, I still wanna go through with it. So without further ado, I present to you:

Rarity's tea party has an unexpected visitor, who is surprised that a certain someone is sitting and sipping tea.

So you're probably sitting there wondering if I'm trolling you or not. The truth is though, I'm not. This really is the latest story on my favourites list and has actually got a very similar set up to the story I'm currently writing. Except with different characters and entirely different self-conflict. But nevertheless I do feel there should be more stories like this one, simple and uncomplicated.

The reason why I love this story so much is that it deals with the unexpected, the things that we don't see every day, the little precious moments that flutter away before we can even catch them. Seeing a pony as reckless and wild as Rainbow Dash sitting at an elegant tea party sipping tea is about the most unusual occurrence a pony could expect. But Maniac92 does a brilliant job of giving the story a satisfying resolution which is why I am going to give this story...
