You know you're getting older when... · 4:01am Oct 7th, 2014
...the thought of getting a full night's sleep sounds so much better than staying up all night playing the new video game you've finally gotten after almost a year waiting for.
As a big fan of the Aliens franchise, I'm really looking forward to playing Alien: Isolation tomorrow. I'll be picking up my copy at midnight tonight, but I gotta say, it's kind of strange realizing that I don't have the desire to play it all night long for maximum scariness effect. I'd be happy to do so only a few years ago, but the demands of both schooling and work keep mounting up, and as I get older, I've learned just how beautiful and wonderful getting a good night's sleep is, and just how vital it is so you can be at your best throughout the day. It's just not worth disrupting that to play a game... though I'm still really looking forward to channeling Solid Snake and successfully sneaking around the unkillable Xenomorph! (Well, at least until the ending. We HAVE to be able to kill it at the very end!)
On a slightly related note, does anyone here have experience streaming/recording PS3 gameplay/Let's Plays? I've been thinking about recording my initial playthrough and posting the most memorable moments on youtube, but I have no experience doing so.
i have seen reviews of that and they are a little all over the place. some are giving it high marks, others have far lower scores for it.
I record gameplay and post it onto youtube.
I know that feel all too well.
That's not a sign of age, it's a sign of lost sleep. Trust me, I'm a student.
Yeah I felt that feeling a whole lot during school. Kind of reinforced my view on the studying of Psychology because I viewed it as an abnormality. Then again, it does make me wonder when I do the exact opposite on other days where I just read fanfiction late at night, even when I'm completely exhausted. On those days, I realize that if I don't go to bed that instant I'd get less than eight hours of sleep, but still on some days I stay up to only let me get four hours of sleep. Kind of makes me wonder why I would need to go to school afterwards if I'm not absorbing anything. But I digress.
