So, have any of you played that big $300 million or so game, Destiny? I'm pretty bored right now, so I figure I'll do a post on games and stuff, this one just seems to have jumped to the top of the list. SO, Destiny: A game set in a sci-fi post poacalypse dystopia world thingy. Aliens want to kill the humans, and the humans want to not, well, die. Alongside the humans are two other races: The Awoken (freaky space-elves or something) and the Exo (Robot dudes/dudettes). Honestly, I'd rather leave the plot summary up to this guy;
Destiny doesn't really have that good of a plot. But that's not really a problem, which isn't something I'm used to saying since I'm normally wanting the story to come first in games I play. The things is, Destiny isn't a game you play because you're invested in the world or saving the galazy or whatever. You play it because, well, because you want to shoot aliens in the head.
What Destiny has over most other games for me, is combat. The combat system is very fun. I personally played as a Warlock for the badass trenchcoats, and have been thoroughly enjoying the ability to run around tossing balls of purple pseudo-magic at people. What's even better however, is the jumping/gliding. This is Destiny's strongest point for me. In an age where most shooting games require you hide behind cover all the time, Destiny encourages you to constantly be on the move, leaping over rocks to shoot people, before flying away again over some other wall. The ability to traverse the terrain is handled very well, which is great!
The biggest issue I have with Destiny, is the online. The 'always online' sucks. Destiny's servers can't seem to handle the strain they're on since I am constantly disconnected from the game world in the middle of a mission or fight, forcing me to reload it and possibly run through it all again. I've had to re trek the same strike mission seven times thanks to this.
Still, despite that the game is fun, and worth a play if you have the time. Anyways, that's all form me. Later y'all.
