International Talk Like A Pirate Day! · 7:18pm Sep 19th, 2014
Pirate-Shy is adorable!
Yarr, how ye fare on this fine mornin'? Indeed, I always make time t' celebrate the greatest day o' the year; International Talk Like a Pirate Day. Today be the day to sharpen your cutlasses, sharpen your tongues, and drink plenty of rum while doin' it.
I really wanted to have the new chapter of AC4:BW finished for this momentous occasion, but alas, I could not. You might have realised by now that I am a very slow writer. It usually takes me at least hour to sit down and write a few hundred words that I'm happy with. This wasn't a very practical habit in school, but I managed all the same.
It's also been brought to my attention that the average chapter only features a 0.25 chance of stabbing; I aim to rectify this. After all, Assassin's Creed isn't Assassin's Creed without stabbing (I'm looking at you AC3). I'll be sending Chapter 4 to my editors in the next couple of days, but for now enjoy this little sneak peek.
-Warning: Unedited-
Oh great, here he comes again. Was there no end to this?! The sailor took a swing, narrowly missing my face as I took a step back. He was quick to recover and lunged out to strike me in the chest. I kicked my legs out to the side and darted to the right, the sailor losing his balance as his swing hit nothing but empty space.
What was next? Oh, parry!
The sailor didn’t look very happy with the sudden turn of events. He spun around and attempted to strike at my forelegs with his sword.
I parried! My sword intercepted his strike and forced him to lose balance. I’d never actually gotten this far in the training. Without thinking I gave his hind leg a swift kick which sent him tumbling to the ground. His sword fell from his jaw and rolled down the deck and far from his reach.
I had done it! Now to strike! I raised my sword and prepared to bring it down on his head. Ha ha, now he’ll know what it feels like to lose! This is what he gets for being such and big, dumb, mean-
“Whoah girl, he’s down.” Bon Bon said as she stepped in-between me and my fallen opponent. “You’ve won.”
International talk like a pirate day holds very little good memories for me.
2468239 I may have used a slight exageration to todays importance.
