Alright! It took me longer than I would've preferred, but I finally got this done. I'm used to being able to complete any writing projects I work on fairly fast, and to me, this isn't very fast at all, but then I remembered that this is just for fun, and it let me relax and just do it in bits and pieces, though the last segment definitely was done all at once. It WAS one of the bigger emotional points of the whole story.
For those of you who're curious about Wind Strider? Don't worry, he's not a one-shot character, he'll be back!
I hope that this chapter cleared up a few things for some of the people that thought that Twilight's breakdown had anything to do with her friends. Even if her friends HAD been there for her, she still would have cracked, unless she managed to last long enough for her studies to be through, but what's done is done, and as you more astute readers can already see, we have ourselves a particularly unstable amount of aggression in poor Twilight. Don't worry, though: Twilight's not a nutso. Anyone that's ever experienced what she's experienced knows that this isn't abnormal. No, it's downright scary, to go from being content and happy as a normal person, to suddenly being easily angered and more than willing to lash out, and finding it very hard to stop yourself from doing so.
I know how this feels. I've had this breakdown. It's like burning out on life and suddenly hating everything that ever mattered to you.
It's a difficult feeling to describe. I suppose the best way to describe it is, kinda....being turned inside-out, and having no way to know how to correct yourself or change yourself back? That's the best I can do. Oh well, in any case, it just takes time to get used to, and to get yourself out of that funk....if you don't have friends that're willing to help you along with the process, that is.
I did think it gave a feeling of personal experience to it. It's very bold to write about things like that, especially when they hit close to home. You're doing a great job, I'm looking forward to the next chapter!
