I sometimes fave a good story I read and will then soon after see that I have a notification. I check it and see that someone commented on my user page
After my initial reaction
I check what Irma going on and see that the author of the story I faved is thanking me.
That always confuses me. Why are they thanking me? What did I do? I read a unique combination of 26 letters and made sure I would see when there is more of it. It's so weird, the author who went through getting the idea for a story, spent the effort in writing the story and then posting the story here for me to enjoy for free.
I don't see how I deserve thanks for that. I have not done anything. You did. You the author have toiled so that I could be entertained and read a good story. And I am sorry that I can't do more to show my gratitude for that. I can only offer you my most sincere thanks.
Thank you.
Every single one of you wonderful people who write so that we readers can read good fanfics.
Thank you.
You are the real MVP
Even still, thanking someone is polite and productive. Polite, as in we should be anyway and it keeps within the tenets of MLP; and productive, as in someone being polite and friendly might just make someone faving one story read others.
2531170 well in that case I accept your thanks and give you one in return
The reason I see for people thanking me for my stories, is that I just made their day. Speaking from experience, my first like and favorite made me ecstatic. I write to please others, because I love knowing that I made somebody happy. I understand the sentiment of thanking somebody for favoriting a story, because you just made their day by enjoying their story.
