So with that, I finished a chapter that took me three months (actually if I just did sessions of drag out writing- more like two days,) RL blues happened a lot during the summer and with me in school now- I don't see this updating soon. Or not as soon as some of you might like. Blame the very important school system. What can you do? Authorial fun time- I do have ideas for both a sequel and a One shot- covering seasons 3 (and EQG) and Magical Mystery Cure. Just AJs side AU. Current place holder names are: Counting Stars and Wonderwall.
But I shall include a handy dandy guide for the musical aspect of the fic and what the episodes relate to. Partially because then I don't have to explain some of the weird titles- and because then I personally don't feel like I have to change a few chapter names because once I write them down on paper- it helps me think. Note: A general Overview of most of the stuff that I have planned. Not exactly the greatest thing since the chapters that I have so far written have gone into full idea mode and Fleur did happen- notice who has the most screen time in chapter two- mainly Fleur. That was unintentional- also I am almost hitting my topped out limit of writing a chapter- 5000ish words is usually where it gets to- though this story might push that into way higher word counts per chapter. Just saying- one of two things- long wait? Might be a long chapter coming or that RL sucks and I'm on the DL- down low.
Chapter 3- Heimdalsgate Like A Promethean Curse by of Montreal- Discord nightmares starring the CMC. Going full force with the Inception level weirdness in this. This I've been thinking a lot about- and with it going AU- I can get away with some of the more weird transformation nightmares.
Chapter 4- Dry The Rain by The Beta Band- analogous to Luna Eclipsed- Note: might take some early elements from that snippet of text that became this story. Still have no idea how my plans for unrepentant fluff turn into adventure stories- but this is like the third or fourth one to do so. Guess its a thing.
Chapter 5- Sisters written by Irving Berlin (multiple versions)- analogous to Sisterhooves Social
Chapter 6-8 known- could be a long arc though- could split into parts. (Into The Dreamlands Arc) covering the songs The While Ship by H.P. Lovecraft (the band), Into The Mystic by Van Morrison, and Us And Them by Pink Floyd- the stuff starts to get fun here. The other chapters are set in the Equestrian Dreamlands and not in the wider world of Dream. This is where things like the Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath's geographical mining will help me into a idea of what to do. This arc could be way more than three chapters though since a lot of stuff happened in the DQ of UK by Lovecraft and that was 120 pages of what I'm doing. So arcwise it might have some repercussions. I know that some of the islands will make Luna and Applejack grow closer in a way. And nods to previous chapters as well since this arc will clear out some of the more obscure referencing I've already placed in and foreshadowing.
(After this point- the ideas fizzled out and the song titles and analogues are less and less important- the Hearth's Warming play- I could make a school play and it would still work for the most part. And anyway- with how the first two chapters went- take these hints with a liberal helping of salt. And the ?? symbol means that both the chapter number and placement might change if I want to do more Dreamlands chapters or find some more family dynamics. Cause that's always comedy. So for now that'll be the look.
