A Christian nerd; probably the only guy you ever met who wanted the Larrymobile to be transformed by the All-Spark. My brother, The Traveler12, is NOT the lamest person you've ever met. Check him out!

Spoiler Alert: Batman Gotham Knight, Part 2 · 3:36am Sep 1st, 2014

:twilightsmile:: "Field Test" starts with Bruce Wayne meeting Lucius Fox to test out, of all things, a FORCE FIELD BELT. Morgan Freeman seems to have been unfortunately unavailable, but they made up for it with the illustrious Kevin Michael Richardson, who we've already met as Trigon and Baron Mordo.
:pinkiecrazy:: Brucie then goes to a golf tournament and uses a Bat-gadget to cause someone's golf club to go flying away. Geez, Batzie's clearly never heard the whole Great Power, Great Responsibility spiel, has he?

:twilightblush:: Actually, he was using that as a distraction so he could steal an evil businessman's PDA. It makes sense in the overall story of the anthology, but the payoff takes so long to appear that we only realized this scene's significance a day after watching the film.
:raritystarry:: Batman then goes to use his new force field in a fight against two gangs. The design for his costume in this segment is very interesting. Between Bruce Wayne's boyish features and the over-compensating size of his armor pieces, you really get the sense that this is a young Batman. The mask is also one of the most theatrical you'll ever see on the character, as is the cape. He also has an interesting Batmobile that clearly emulates the Tumbler, but has it's own elements as well.
:twilightoops:: Unfortunately, the force field causes a bullet to bounce and hit one of the criminals, forcing Batman to abduct the criminal and take him to the hospital for his own good. The crook recovers, but Bruce decides that the force field is too dangerous and retires it. Given that Bruce's best friend bounces bullets off of his chest, I wonder if this was supposed to imply anything....?

:raritystarry:: The next segment is "In Darkness Dwells." This segment definitely shows Batman at his most elemental. His shadows shift in weird ways, and the camera close-ups on him with unsettling speed. His body motions range from inhuman to unnatural, and he occasionally comes across as incorporeal. He even HANGS FROM THE CEILING like a bat! The architecture in this segment is also the most gothic, while most of the other parts much more focused on making an urban wasteland than a dark jungle.
:twilightsmile:: The segment also features Gordon's and Batman's relationship at an odd stage, when they worked together but didn't yet trust each other. It's an interesting twist. Anyway, Batman goes into the sewers to rescue a priest from Scarecrow and Killer Croc.
:yay:: Oh, I bet he didn't mean it. He always seemed like just a big sweetie to me.

:twilightoops:: R-right. A-anyway, Rainbow Dash, could you, um, cover Fluttershy's eyes and ears for a moment? ....Thank you. So as you might have expected, Batman beats up Killer Croc, who's trying to eat him during the whole fight. You can let her go now, Rainbow.
:fluttershysad:: Hmmph. I don't know why you feel the need to baby me all the time!
:twilightsheepish:: Well, the Son of Batman incident might have something to do with it.
:fluttershyouch:: O-oh. G-good point.
:rainbowdetermined2:: Anyway, Batman goes into the sewers, kicks some scary-awesome bad guy flank, rescues the priest, and returns him to Gordon, before heading through the sewers to reach a pick-up point with Alfred.
