Weekly Blog #1 · 4:10pm Aug 28th, 2014
So, I'm writing a blog for the hell of it, one a week about life, ideas, story updates, movie reviews, so on and so forth. First off, my week's been okay, pretty boring except for a few films I watched. Godzilla is among the best films of the year and most definitely the film of the summer besides my other fav, Transformers Age Of Extinction. This week, I saw Leprechaun: Origins, which will of course receive immense hate for it's violent, gory nature and the fact that it reboots a series some like. In my opinion, it was a very decent horror flick and above all else, a better film than any of it's predecessors. Instead of a trollish leprechaun on the hunt for his gold, we have a monster in this one who seeks vengeance for his stolen gold that miners of a small irish town dug up years ago. The townspeople sacrifice outsiders to keep the beast at bay, but when a group manages to escape the creatures grasp, an all-out race to escape town and discover the secret of said town ensues. Now, the characters aren't exactly amazing and the acting isn't oscar-worthy, but the gore, suspense, design of the creature, and mystery of the town kept me interested. All in all, it's a solid 7/10 for a fun night of horror watching. Onto my story, chapter two is in the full planning phase while editing on Chapter one of my Agent Pie story is nearly complete and should be posted by next week or so. Tonight, I will watch either Brick Mansions or Transformers if the blu ray happens to pop up in torrents later. For music, Young Jeezy's Seen It All: The Autobiography is album of the year so far for sure. It's sheer energy and charisma is enough to hold it over, but with 15 solid tracks, dope hooks, and great lyrics the album is Jeezy's best and a 10/10 for sure. Now, this album isn't your average rap album. Not every track is a club banger or sex anthem, but tells a story of living life in the streets with nothing but a dollar and a dream. Hard hitting tracks like What You Say and Me OK show Jeezy's ability to make a banger of a song, something to roll around town with the top down and listen to on full blast. Tracks like Seen It All with Jay-Z and No Tears with Future show soulful production with meaningful lyrics of living a hard knock life and losing friends and family. Tracks like Beez Like with Lil Boosie and Enough show Jeezy can be motivational in his music telling people to get up and work and you can be anything you set your mind to. It's an amazing album whether you enjoy rap or not, it's a great addition to the music catalog. So, that's my weekly blog. Tune in next week for more of life and entertainment, Fluttashifty style.
