Daisy Jo, Writer's Block, and a Question Session · 5:41pm Aug 27th, 2014
Alright! Three things I'm going to address in this blog.
1) Daisy Jo
Recently, the results for the Equestria Daily Outside Insight Contest Round Two came out; I wasn't exactly surprised to see Daisy wasn't on the list. It was a silly little piece that I wrote in a day, fell in love with, submitted, and then of course a few days later I go back and am appalled at how many errors I've made. Not really grammatical ones, either, but the fact that it just isn't long enough, and isn't really a successful comedy. The only "successful" comedy I've written was Opposites, and that was done on a whim too. I think that one really was funny to people because it was meta humor, and they could relate to it.
Daisy, though, just wasn't as funny as it could have been.
I thought it was funny - I still think some sections are funny (I get giggles every time I re-read the parts about Apple Bloom) - but hey, not everyone has the same opinion as me. It should have been longer.
Then there was a person who stopped reading it because they thought it was a monologue with quotation marks, which would have been horribly incorrect...if it was a monologue. Oh well.
2) I hate writer's block.
What do I really want to write right now? A RariJack. A fluffy but serious RariJack. What can I not come up with any ideas for?
Points to whoever guesses.
3) Question time!
Because of boredom, I'm inviting you guys to ask me (almost) anything in the comments below, and I'll answer.
Things you cannot ask:
-Personal information or questions (gender is fine, though, but I think most of you know it; if you ask age I'll only give a certain range)
-Awkward questions (I think you know what I mean by this)
-Stupid questions (yes, there is such a thing as too stupid a question)
Go wild, my followers!
