Between 1976 and 2004, America's two largest producers of superhero comics, Marvel Comics and DC Comics, would occasionally manage to put aside their differences long enough to have their respective characters beat the tar out of each other. Unfortunately, recent years have brought upon an increased rivalry that has prevented any further inter-company cooperation. Many fans of both companies have been left sorely disappointed by the amount of official content dedicated to interaction between these two universes. Myself included. So for over a year now, I've compiled a master list of the fights I would like to see between the denizens of these two universes. For the second time, in some cases.

Some of your picks are interesting, but for the most part I think there is not much contrast in your list selection, watching two characters battle each other with the same exact power set can be like watching a guy shadow boxing in a mirror.
4097123 A fair point. I guess the appeal for me is in the details, though. Yeah a lot of these characters are very similar, but there's always differences, and that's where the fun comes in. A fight between Ant-Man and the Atom, for example, would largely focus on Atom's greater size-shifting powers facing off against Ant-Man's insect back-up. Or a fight between Iron Man and Steel would largely involve Steel's melee prowess trying to overcome Stark's greater speed.
Contrast? I guess I'm at a lost. When it comes to shrinking, Antman and the Atom can both go subatomic. Antman can go so far as to shrink into another universe called the Microverse. And, I'm sure the Atom can or could do the same. As far as Ironman and Steel go, the only contrast there is in "Star Power", Ironman being an A-list character and Steel being a sometimes B, mostly C-list character. This "A-listing" importance to story completion gives Ironman a clear advantage over Steel, not only in speed, but in strength, intelligence, technological resources and team leadership. Basically Ironman would beat the crap out of him.
As far as the ants posing any real threat to the Atom, that's hard to see, since all he has to do is continue shrinking to avoid them altogether, unless Antman plans to take the ants subatomic as well. In any case, have you given any thought about applying contrast to your character selection, such as The Thing vs Orion, or Thor vs the Martian ManHunter? Or if that's not interesting enough, how about the Molten Man vs Mister Freeze, or Frankenstein (DC) vs Mister Hyde? Flash vs the Hulk? The Vulture vs Manbat? Spiderman vs Ambush Bug? Corny, I know, but interesting, no? Okay then, how about Superman vs Ironman or Colossus? If I spelled that right?
4100555 Ant-Man, to my knowledge, cannot go subatomic. The only time I've seen so is in cartoon shows and movies, not in regular Marvel continuity.
Anyway, I understand your point, but ultimately have no real interest. I really made this list to make really, really close contests. To see who's really the best at what they do by pitting them against their equal opposites. All of the fights you mentioned would be very interesting, but are inherently random match-ups and not really my style. If that's more of what you like, maybe you should consider constructing such a list yourself. You seem to have some pretty good ideas to start off with.
Avenger Academy #12 (correct if needed) The Absorbing Man engages Ant-Man/Giant-man in an intense battle within the subatomic plane, called the Microverse. The Absorbing Man also being able to go subatomic by touching Ant-man and absorbing his ability to shrink. Ultimately, no real interest? Okay, sorry about that, that whole, "feel free to make suggestions and constructive criticism" thing, threw me off course there for a second. Well, before I go, can I at least make one final "suggestion?" The Red Tornado vs The Vision is not exactly as even a match-up as compared to some other possibilities. The reason being, the Vision not having any real elemental abilities to speak of. A better match-up I believe would be, is The Red Tornado vs The Original Human Torch. The Original Human Torch of course, being an android that can control the element of fire, think about it. Well, nightcrawlerfan, it's been fun. That's understandable. I suppose I was looking more for critiques of individual fights than for ways to completely overhaul the project. I probably should've been clearer. Also, it's been two years, and I've moved on to other projects, so I'm probably not as open to criticism as when I first wrote this.

Okay, comments, just on the list, two years old, got it. Well in that case, I see that you have Ironman vs Steel lll. I believe a better match-up would be, War Machine vs Steel lll, two generic black guys trying to live up to the legends of two brand name white guys by recreating themselve in their image, works for me. Besides, both of them are more conventional weapons based than either of their predecessors. Next, the Joker vs Green Goblin, I don't know how you're going to pull that one off? I guess in a comic book anything is possible? I would go with the Joker vs the Red Skull, they're both insane, they both have trademark, grotesque faces and both represent the greatest challenge to the heroes they were designed to fight. I know you have Skull vs Blackmask but Skull is a war criminal hellbent on world domination and the last time I checked, Mask is basically a Mob boss that has a strange sense of style where "Made-man" fashion is concerned. As far as Blackmask goes, I would match him up against Black Tarantula. I know, not much of a fist fight, but Blackmask doesn't have all that hired muscle for nothin', not to mention they both wear masks.
4113393 The main reason for the Steel fight was because DC doesn't really have anyone else of Iron Man's caliber in the armor department. War Machine might be a better match for Steel, but I really don't know who else to have Tony fight.
The Joker/Green Goblin match-up was always tricky. The main reason was because neither character really had a power-match on the other side, so I just matched them based off of their characters. Joker vs Red Skull would be a better fight, but then I'm not sure who I'd send against the Green Goblin.
