People usually ask me why I never like to be that active on Fimfiction, unless it's for posting any new chapters or actual stories, and then I seem to scurry away like the rat bastard that I am.
Well, believe it or not, there's a reason behind it.
Before, when I first joined Fimfiction, I didn't know squat about what I was doing. All I saw was a bunch of weird text on top of more weird text which had even more weird text underneath. I just started clicking around, hoping something would find me answers, until lo and behold, I found the basic functions of Fimfiction—Groups, Blog posting, story posting, etc.— and I got into it for a while. I joined whatever group tickled my fancy and decided to stick with it.
Seems simple, right?
That was when I started responding to threads, and most of them would be harmless stuff; "Why is Rainbow Dash so awesome?" or "Twilight is best pone", any of the bunch. Well, not really, but you get the point. One thing I did notice pop up on occasion would be the mutual discussion about certain topics, and certain users (not naming anyone) becoming increasingly offended of said topic and start a huge heated debate for something someone decided to post randomly with no harm intended whatsoever.
And that's where I drew the line.
I condoned it, believe me I did. I would just click away and ignore it, maybe peek my head in to see if it was anything interesting, but there was nothing. As seemingless as that might seem, I am a very complicated type of man, where one day I try to follow some vague set of beliefs, or the next I can do a complete 180° and decide everyone can go brutally sodomize themselves with their mothers watching.
It was when I realized that I started contending in these battles of wits (if you want me to put it nicely), and I started being one of those individuals that get very touchy on those certain topics. That's when I realized, why do I even bother?
So I just plain and simple stopped. I decided that I wasn't going to get involved in any of it. No more. I snapped my fingers and engraved it in my head.
That's my explanation, which I think can address it fairly well. I'm not very active on Fimfiction and I will continue not to be, for the exception of posting chapters and stories. But anything outside of Fimfiction, I'm glad to talk to you all. Add me on Skype (holysniper42) or Steam (Overly-Cliche Zealot) if you want to speak to me, and it's as simple as that. I'm usually online, so don't be afraid to ask me a question or two about whatever the hell it is I do on here.
