So for the past week and a half I've just been writing down in my dream journal, and getting in the habit of doing reality checks. (looking at hand/ counting fingers)
But yesterday I found this guy on Youtube who has a lot of experience with lucid dreaming, and I will say that I learned not only the step by step guide lines for lucid dreaming, but he also gives a lot of techniques for doing things before you start dreaming and while you are dreaming. Check out his channel if you're interested in trying to learn how to do lucid dreams. I recommend it.
Before I begin talking about my first attempt at lucid dreaming, you're probably wondering why I have just now became so into lucid dreaming? The easy answer to that is because you can do ANYTHING when you are in a lucid dream. Think of Gmod, but better. If you get really good at lucid dreaming you can reach a, as I like to call it, "god mode" where you can create anything and everything. Your limitation is only based on your imagination.
This is the closes way we can actually get to Equestria, meet all the characters, and interact with your waifu.
So last night was my first attempt to try a lucid dream. I was doing the mild lucid dream where I repeat a phrase in my head like, "I will have a dream" or "I will remember my dream." So I started doing that, and they say try not to move around when you're trying to fall asleep. So I stayed still, and I could slowly feel my body start to go numb. It started with my fingers, then my hands and up my arms. Soon my whole body felt numb, so I knew I was on the right track. I stayed that way for about two hours, (I peeked at the clock only once) but the longer it went, the harder it was to remember to repeat myself. I can't really explain how I felt besides the numbness. But it was weird.
Finally I gave up, and moved around because I couldn't handled the numbness anymore. So I thought I failed to even remember a dream. But as I was starting to have breakfast, I don't know how, but I remembered I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I don't know why, but I looked at my hand, and my fingers were stubs. And that means I'm dreaming, however, my brain tricked me into believing that it was because I stood still too long, and the numbness was caused by the blood lose, and that was why my fingers sunk into itself. I have no clue. All I know is that my reality check worked, but I fell fool to my brain convincing me that I wasn't dreaming.
This has just been day one at my attempts, and it was a success even if I didn't get lucid. I know now that my reality check works, so if I can recognize it the next time, I may be on my way to lucid dreaming.
