Movies Reviews by Tripl3M: Tonight Lucy (Spoilers... duh)

    Lucy was interesting.

Interesting from a scientific point of view, from the standpoint of a enjoyment seeking viewer maybe not so much.

While it had it's fair share gruesome and violent scene, they were clearly not the focus of the movie. You'd already seen most if you seen the trailer.

    Galacon The Full Blog

    Hello fellow humans,

I finally got my hands on the pictures of my friend Gecko-7 and I am now finally capable of doing my blog about Galacon just three weeks late.... hehehe

Anyhow the produces of me attending Galacon was slightly different, as the announced guests just weren't as interesting as last year nor where there any overly interesting community panels.

I think I am a little late to that party, since I didn't watch due to not being wanted to be spoilered in a way or another, but since the clip probably takes place right at the start of the movie, it probably will be most likey fine.

Here's the video in case some of you still haven't seen it.

Galacon Part 0.5-isch... MLP CCG! · 10:06am Aug 6th, 2014

Hello folks,

today I am going to write my current opinion of the MLP CCG and the people who play it, as I returned from Galacon which was the cooler one of the two cons this weekend (because it got us germans.... and me... I'm cool and handsome.) Why is it called Galacon Part 0.5-ish? Well once I have repeatably punched uhm hunged my dear friend Gecko-7 to upload the pictures he made, I'll to a blog about Galacon in general.

So let's get started.

Now I am what you could call a elite in terms of card games. I have been playing MTG or Magic The Gathering for over 10 years now, I've played Yu-Gi-Oh before in the past but just recently started playing again and I did play Cardfight Vanguard until I realized, shit nigger I need to invest more money into vanguard than I need into MTG.

But I don't call myself that, simply because serious decks bore me... I play even in Magic outside of my Bird Soldiers deck (as casual tournament level, as Legacy nothing, because it has Legion cards.)

Other than that one, I play very gimmicky decks like my Selesnya deck (Hail the Conclave!) and my Dimir Mill deck.

So the MLP CCG itself takes a lot of ideas and concept from MTG, which for me is brilliant. I could just throw myself into the deck building right of the bat and I did. Due to the fact that this children's card game is about a year old now there aren't too many cards or Mane cards to change up the game drastically but it's deep enough to be capable of compared to MTG in it's starting days and there is already a third expansion set announced for the end of summer.

The game offers a wide enough variety through forcing player to play two colors instead of one and so far thanks to that I haven't made someone with the same deck as my own, which is a surprise to me as I thought people would play this deck, which isn't the hardest to play, the most. My Flutters+RD deck (OTP GG K BYEZ) is pretty much just a stampede deck, a deck which focuses on bring out creatures and just going with sheer force through your opponent, very similar to my Selesnya deck which is mainly the reason I had this build in probably 30 minutes +- some polishing.

and this would be the point where I switch from talking about the CCG to the people for a while.

Now I haven't played anyone outside of my two friends Gecko-7 and Hidelino from Galacon last year, since the CCG store where there were supposed MLP CCG players, none were to be found. So Galacon 2014 was the first time for me to play other people where I didn't have my hands in their decks.

and here's the thing: I said I could call myself a Elite in CCGs, but I don't. About 50% of the people I met and played at Galacon did, even though the MLP CCG is THEIR FIRST CCG! The two most enjoyable games I had there were against the same person, a hobby player, who surprisingly had quite well made decks. I even gave him some advice, but all the rest thought they were the fucking king of games because they played the MLP CCG, a children's card game which life time is about a year old, since the beginning and this is why I really wanted to meet players outside of the Brony fandom first, because most of these "Elite" deck are crap. crap which only won against me, because my luck in card games is fucking horrible. I went goddamn 12 to 15 against someone with just Fluttershy cards on the field because I got no RD cards.
But worst of all is how childlike these people behave when someone questions their rulings. Gecko had a worse experience than I had, but mine describes it more than enough.

This card is one of the most played cards right now. Why? Because at the current moment this card is broken, since additional ruling don't exist yet. This card, especially with three on the field, will cripple you and how? Well in the MLP CCG you pay everything with Action Tokens, which you gain at the beginning of your turn. This card can decrease the amount of AT you gain due to the unclear text on it and I am pretty sure this isn't the intended usage of this card.

As you can see, it's effect says: "Reaction: When an opponent receives at least 1 AC, you can tap this card. If you do, he loses 1 AC." Three things that are problematic.
1) Reaction: Now reaction could count as the moment in any phase were this takes place, but on the other hand the gain of the AC points takes place during the ready phase and again there aren't clear rules about what can happen during that phase. As I see the reaction is that it's meant as a reaction to a active action from your opponent, meaning the gain of a AC through a card's ability or a spellcard.
2) Color Ideology: This is a yellow card, a Fluttershy card, a color which focuses on bring out more Friends and Critters to simply overrun your opponent. This card focuses in it's current state on crippling your opponent, a effect no other yellow card has in any form. This card doesn't fit into the theme of yellow at all.
3) Experience: As said I play Children Card Games for a long time and I know/knew almost everything from Mirrordin till now. The Mirrordin block was released in 2004 or 5. In that time a metric shitton of MTG cards came out and the amount of cards which cripple your opponent like this is about 50 cards, ignoring colors. Magic The Gathering, a game which celebrated it's 20th birthday a few years ago, doesn't have a cards with similar effect to this one and you know why? Because the cards, which do, aren't supposed to cripple your opponent, but to counter your opponent. There are a lot more cards which don't allow the untapping on lands or similar effects and which just rid them in general and it's the same thing here. This card is supposed to be a counter against Twilight (purple) and Rarity (white), two colors which need a lot of AC points and therefore have effects which allow the gain of AC points. This card is intended to protect yourself from these little additional points your opponent can make, because they will hurt you in the next turn.

And where is the entire problem of this? well partly in the fact that Fluttershy Guidance Counselor should say additional instead of at least, but other than that in the people, because even the refs behave like butthurt children when they're helping someone and realize they're losing, because that's what happened to my dear friend Gecko-7. I know his deck, mostly to the fact I partially made it, but I know the cards' effects and how they're used and he played against a beginner with a constructed deck, so it was pretty much plain level field in experience in MLP CCG. Later on a offical ref came by and started to help his opponent who was losing at that moment and started to cheat when he realized that the guy he was helping was starting to lose. This is a offical ref cheating... If this were Magic, he would have shamed his store and be banished until redemption.

I really like the MLP CCG, it's a really good new card game. A match doesn't take too long like MTG (*cough45minattimescough*) but it still has a lot more complexity than other CCG (*coughVanguardcough*), but BUT the people who currently play it within the fandom aren't people you should play it with, because they see themselves as smug bitches who need to play with broken cards to win a game.

If you want to play the game, I suggest find some friends and play with them. I myself will continue to play it and look for more opponents in hope to find a group which has some dignity.

Anyway that's it from me, Trips
I am now going to banish myself with Oblivion Ring to the Shadow Realm where I will summon synchro summon my azure-eyes silver dragon as a vanguard. (Synchro What now?)

Also CARD GAMES ON MOTORCYCLE.... Now I think I have all the stupid Yu-Gi-Oh abridged references and card game references I need.... Wrath of God, byez
