Just a little update, in case some people were wondering what's taking me so long with the stuff I mentioned in my previous blog post.
I'm still in the process of revising my 'Rainbow Dash joins the Wonderbolts' fic, the one that took 3rd place in the Bronystate fanfiction competition. (Yes, I do love saying that, thank you very much.) It's going at a very sluggish pace, however, because pretty much everything I thought would happen, happened. I know my body. Adjusting to a difference of 7 timezones between the US (Texas) and Europe (Belgium) is doing a very big number on me.
Some people get over jetlag in a day or two. I need at least two weeks to recuperate. My sleeping pattern, mostly due to my job, is completely messed up. I find myself more often than not asleep during the day and staying awake at night. Already got a pale skin, now all I need is an aversion to garlic, no mirror image and long, bloodied fangs, and I'd make a great vampire. Oh, and a cloak.
So, as one might assume, the will to write and edit is nowadays greatly sapped due to sheer exhaustion. I try not to write when feeling tired, for I feel anything that comes out during such a state is utter crap. Heck, I think my writing is utter crap anyway, yet most readers seem to disagree.
I'm also very sad to say my grandfather passed away last weekend, so my days are filled with sad songs. We weren't exactly very close (still on friendly terms, rest assured), but it still hurts. His funeral is coming up next weekend, and I'm working pretty much every day until then, so it's not unlikely to think my first fic be up won't be up for another week, two at the very least.
But I shouldn't be writing checks my mouth can't cash. Just like Duke Nukem Forever: it'll be done when it's done. (And yes, that game wasn't done. Not by a long shot.)
Speaking of games... Mass Effect 3 (Multiplayer), Assassin's Creed: Revelations, The Walking Dead game, Modern Warfare 3 and Lollipop Chainsaw (which is coming up soon): more distractions that are keeping me occupied, away from writing. So yeah.
If anyone feels like pre-reading my fic in its current state, do tell. I could use a fresh set of eyes with a clear view on things.
