You ever have one of those kicks where you just get really into a particular genre? Like, you maybe watch a great Action movie and start looking for anything with action in it.
Well I'm on one of those kicks, with the horror genre, and was hoping that you guys could feed my crippling addictiongive me a few hitsfriendly suggestions.
Pony stories would be cool, but pretty much any horror story suggestion would be nice, regardless of medium.
Well, there's a pretty cool horror/comedy novel that's a favorite of mine, called John Dies at the End. It's a bit obscure, but I think you might like it.
On a serious note, I don't have much in my horror repertoire beyond that. I've been writing a murder mystery myself, which has some horror elements, but it's not really the focus.
2286562 Pft, that sounds like the kind of story where someone would just change the name John in the title to something pony and call it a crossover. Not gonna associate myself with that garbage.

Have you tried some of the more popular horror video games? I never finished it, but Amnesia: The Dark Descent scared the everloving crap out of a jumpy friend of mine. (Watching her reactions was probably better than the game itself.

Yeah, I've suddenly found myself mainly just reading Pokemon and Changeling-related fics on this site.
Honestly, the only horror stuff I know are games. I blame Markiplier and a couple other YouTubers.
Y'know, stuff like Amnesia and Outlast.
Just on a side note, do you have any idea with what we should do about the collab we were doing? I'm honestly not sure.

Personally I'm not a fan of both of us typing in a GDoc making changes and tooling around with it at the same time, maybe a system where we can each write certain parts and put them together, then edit it all so it flows smoothly would work better?
2287380 Haha, I've played quite my share of horror games, I'm a huge fan of Amnesia even though I constantly regret playing it once I start.
2288286 Now that I think about it, if you're into anime and/or visual novels, I could reccommend you Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni, as well as it's spiritual successor, Umineko No Naku Koro Ni. Both are pretty solid mystery-horror games. They both have anime adaptions (Which range from Pretty okay to aggressively mediocre, respectively) but in both cases the original visual novel is the way to go.
While I've never played them myself, I've also heard pretty good things about Saya No Uta and Corpse Party.

2288336 Hm, never been really big on Japanese stuff outside of Fit of the North Star and Dragonball, I'll give them a shot though. I was able to find some information on them and they seem pretty cool.
