I might not be making it to Bronycon · 5:58pm Jul 11th, 2014
The long story short is that the plans I thought I made to book a hotel weren't actually made. I didn't say I'd commit to the other group and so they didn't put me down.
This leaves me without a hotel reservation. I found another group that expressed interest in going to Bronycon, and I'm going to see if we can agree on sharing and reserving a hotel room. I'm going to see how that works out over the next two weeks or so, but I'm trying to prepare for both possibilities.
If I can't go, it's not the end of the world. I was really looking forward to it earlier because of my current lack of a laptop computer. But I'll get it back before the convention, which made me remember how uncomfortable I often felt without having paid for wi-fi on the convention floor.
I also felt lost for what to do, attending each panel about writing or drawing that I could. Despite that, I feel like I got the most out of hanging out and meeting people like Applejinx in the place for writers and artists. Meeting them was fun, but it also reminded me of how little work I put to drawing and writing myself, which sadly has not changed too much in the past year. During idle moments at the convention, I always felt the need to make up for lost time, which took away from my fun.
So if I can't go, I plan on making the best use of my time that I can with my laptop, catching coverage from there while I'm not trying to work. If I can go, though, I'm not quite sure what I'd do there. Congoers, how are YOU planning to spend those days?
