Brief update · 11:55pm Jun 3rd, 2012
Original-fic novel is at 65,000 words. The title is "The Demon Of Cliffside."
I should have my cover for it this week ish. I'm super excited from the sketches I've been shown, so I can't wait for it to be done.
I'm seriously considering kickstarter-ing it for editing/advertising costs and also because I quit my crappy old job and could use extra income! Yes, I am now working in a code startup with a couple of friends. I've spent the past three weeks eyebrow-deep in iOS.
Will I get back to ponyfic? I'd like to. Other than Apotheosis sequel, there are a few vignettes that have been in my head for a while (one for Celestia, one for Doctor Whooves)
Ooh, sounds interesting. Be sure to post a link if you do!
I am definitely going to get that story when it comes out. Any idea on the publishing date?
Also, an "Apotheosis" sequel? Curse you and your dramatic hints!

I would support that Kickstarter!
Just be careful about publishing the story online Daetrin, don't want to have the same problem that the Salvation War series had.
For those who don't know: The story was written online, but because it became available for free everywhere, no publisher would touch the story.
At any rate, looking forward to getting a chance to read it eventually.

It's just a want right now, nothing more, so it's not really a hint :(
So far as a publishing date - it's at least two months out, probably more like three. Once I finish the story (slow writer that I am!) it needs to be copy-edited (I have my prereaders to keep me honest on continuity and characterization, thank goodness), then transformed into Amazon's formatting, and that needs to be copy-edited. However, the end IS in sight.

I have no desire to go through a publisher. I'm planning to just sell it through Amazon, where I can keep my rights to it (and ALL rights to it), as well as make a decent amount of cash if it gets popular. I'm neither expecting nor wanting to become a J.K. Rowling and sell millions of copies of things. Well, okay, it'd be kind of awesome, but I don't tend to write toward a broad audience <.< And if I sold a million copies through Amazon I'd be getting most of that money and not a publisher. And I will almost certainly make it available for free eventually. Like, when I put out my second book two and a half years from now or something :p
Regardless, I'll definitely post the cover art up here, and if/when I get it put together, the Kickstarter as well.

Also every time you post I keep expecting you to ask me, "what do you want?"
Sounds awesome.

Or would you prefer: Who are you?
Or: Do you have anything worth living for?
Consider me intrigued.

Fantasy, roughly.
The setting is an alchemypunk city built at the edge of the world, and because I hate cliche it has no elves/dwarves/yaddayadda, nor is it set in a pseudo-Britain. And the demon corresponds to no mythological creature I'm aware of, name aside.
Let us know when your book becomes available
You are considering a sequel to Apotheosis?
...
WANT.
Good luck with your novel, though. Being a fiction author today is probably quite hard, given the sheer amount of fiction coming out. However, I think you have thoroughly proven to be creative enough for making your novel a success.
