AnA Update and Everfree Northwest · 6:14pm Jul 3rd, 2014
So in regards to Adventures and Alicorns (shortened to AnA henceforth) I need to explain a little something, and it's in regards to what I had originally said at the beginning. The fic was a test for me to determine where my weaknesses and where my strengths lie, primarily in writing. I loved the story I had, but it wasn't really an entirely fleshed out thing. When I first published AnA, I had NO IDEA it would receive anything NEAR 100 favorites, let alone 500. So on that note, I need to say something...
I am now making AnA my main writing task, and that is why chapter 3 took so long to come out. My original intention for AnA was to make a chapter here and there when I felt like it, but mostly I'd have my attention on my other fic: Remembrance. But then, all you people (I love you all, by the way) decided to give AnA a chance. I mean, it seems kinda funny how that happens. AnA blew up when I wasn't even giving it a proper outline or a proper storyline that I had planned. I had... ideas in my head of things I wanted to do, such as Rainbow Dash getting pulled into the game and a few others I won't mention because they haven't happened yet. However, like I said, it then exploded. So many people decided to follow the story and give me a chance, and I feel like I should EARN that chance.
And so, that's my announcement. I already kinda said it, but now you have all the context. Remembrance is no longer my primary writing task, and AnA is.
I actually decided that way back after I published chapter 2 towards the end of May. I said I was working on chapter 3, but in reality I was fully preparing AnA to be my main fic. That meant proper planning of the story, characters made and not just thought up off the top of my head, and an outline that keeps the story well in line from start to finish. A good chunk of that is still in my head, but that's not a problem for me because I have a mental notebook that doesn't ever forget the stuff I make. However, in case of amnesia, I am slowly pushing it all into the cloud via GDocs, just a bit at a time. Now that I have most of the planning done, I can safely say my attention will be on chapters.
Unfortunately, I cannot give an update schedule, nor can I really give an eta on when they're completed. It's kind of a stupid excuse, but the truth is that it's because I have a full time job in construction. I sometimes come home from work and am just too exhausted to even consider writing, so that hampers my output quite a bit. On top of this, my time for writing ponies is already pretty limited: the key-words here are 'full time'. This means that I can only write when I'm both a) not at work, and b) not out-and-about (honestly, I seem to be out-and-about more often than I'd like).
Eh... There's all that. Just... know I'm working on it. I try to always write at least a LITTLE bit on days where I'm just tired and/or stressed, so it won't take forever.

And lastly, the reason why the words 'Everfree Northwest' are in the blog title. I will be attending Everfree, seeing as I live only about 10-20 minutes away from it. Just smell the glorious Seattle musk... The stench of hobo sweat and car fumes, mixed with the angst of a million citizens all crying out for increased minimum wage... Ahhh, so relaxing. Just sip your Seattle's Best Coffee and relax in your drivers seat at that never-ending red light you're stuck at while reading this blog. Don't worry, you're in Seattle, that light will change to green eventually.
Whoa, I got a little sidetracked there... My apologies. Yes, as I said, I will be attending. Just a regular ol' dude running around buying pony stuff. There's a few ways you can find me (if you even care):
1) I'll be murdering people for their plushies, so just follow the screaming. Also, a friendly warning to you: if you see a tower of plushies hidden in a corner somewhere, STAY AWAY FROM IT.
*sidenote* I collect plushies from things I enjoy, and MLP is obviously something I enjoy. >_> I think.
2) My name tag will say Vertorm, in addition to my ACTUAL name, so if you know my ACTUAL name, you can find me that way. Though, I suppose you could also find me if you knew Vertorm... but that'd be boring.
3) Request to meet up. Conventions can be fun, but sometimes they can be pretty boring when experienced without friends around. They're a MASSIVE social gathering and it seems surprising to know, but there are plenty of people who feel alone in such a place. I have a couple friends of mine going with me, but I got nothing against hanging out with someone somepony else (sorry, I'm attending a pony convention, I think I need to get used to the lingo <_<). Heck, when I attended ComiCon here in Seattle a few months back, I met Altair (sp?) from Assassin's Creed and we hit it off pretty well. Turned out he lived a little ways away from me, and was also into ponies, so we became friends. Hung out the entire rest of the convention. I mean, I even filmed him larping. Seriously. If you want to see Altair larp, just ask. (Note: Altair's name is actually Andrew)
So yeah, that's about it... If you want to meet up, shoot me a PM here on Fimfic with a way I can get a hold of you, easiest being a cell-phone number I can text. Then we can just chill, talk about ponies, go on a murdering spree for plushies, I mean, the options are limitless. Nearly limitless.
Well, that's that. I look forward to seeing some of you at Everfree!
Will Remembrance have some updates?

Yes, I suppose I should have said something in regards to that, shouldn't I? Remembrance will indeed receive updates; it is not being dropped in favor of working on Adventures and Alicorns. It is just being put on a secondary priority.
