Why the name change?

So, I know no one is following me right now, so this probably isn't relevant or important and probably no one noticed, but I just have a feeling I should mentioned this.

For those who didn't know, my name was originally 'GoldenJoy'. Of course, now it is 'MintyJoy'. There is a reason why that is.

I had been trying for a long time to figure out a good pony name for myself long before I even dreamed of joining FimFiction, and one day I came up with the perfect one in the shower. But by the time I was out and dressed, I had forgotten it. (awkward, but true)

Then when I joined FimFiction, I needed a name. 'GoldenJoy' was as close to the original name that I could remember. I just remembered that it ended in 'Joy' and that my cutie mark was a golden quill. So I came up with 'GoldenJoy' just really fast.

I immediately started having problems with the name. I may never know why, but I have always had this grudge against the letter 'G'. Maybe because I have never liked how it looked. It makes me feel bad because my sister's name starts with a 'G', but oh well it's how I feel. So having everything I did being signed with a 'G' was really irritating. I couldn't stand it. It was horrible.

I needed a new name. I started thinking of how I came up with my OC.

I designed my character after best pony herself, Rainbow Dash. She and I have very much in common, including a huge ego, not liking being outshined, and always being loyal to the ones we love. I as a person am blonde, thus I wanted my OC blonde. But must importantly, was how I got my coat color.

I noticed the Mane 6 were all the colors of the rainbow, except green. And green is my favorite color. But I didn't want to be any green. I wanted to be a very particular kind of green. Because I had liked Gen. 3 when I was a kid. And Minty was my favorite.

So I wanted to be Minty green. Over several redraws and a bit a PhotoShop my coat has gone from that to a bit more yellow green, but I hope to fix that in the near future. The more important thing is when I was searching for a new name, I remembered I based my character off of Minty. So then it clicked.

Now my name is pleasant in my eyes and has significant value to me and my history with these ponies. And that's why I changed it.

So, sorry to bore you all with my weird story, but I felt I had to do it, so I did.
