Hey everyone.
I'd like to formally apologize for the wait. And I'd like to let you know how much I appreciate those of you who are still favoriting and watching even though I have been completely inactive for several months. Wow guys. You are truly amazing.
I wish I could say that during this long quiet I have been writing that new story I've been advertising. Unfortunately, I have not been. I'd like to take a little time (since I've spent none with you all for so long) to explain why.
Just as I was about to start writing at the beginning of the summer, I got hired at this really great job. Since then I've been adjusting to a life with a full-time job, bringing in the bills as I prepare for the next stage of my life. It has taken away a ridiculous amount of my time, and I have been unable to focus on my story. But nothing can keep me from writing, so I have still been writing. Just not... my pony story.
The reason for that is... well, the story I was planning to write had me very emotionally invested. It was a father-daughter relationship, based on my own relationship with my father, which is complicated and very confusing. I have started and scrapped this story countless times, unable to capture exactly what I want. I was too emotionally invested, and for a while I was planning to give up.
Now I have some good news and some bad news. I'll start with the bad, and end with the good.
The bad news is this: I am about to enter the next stage in my life, which is an LDS mission. For those of you who are unaware, this will be an experience in which I will be far from home for a term of 18 months and away from everything like the internet, ponies, music, and even this website. I am not even sure I can write. It is a personal decision that has taken a lot of thought, dedication, and preparation. I am nearly ready, and could be leaving as soon as the beginning of November. The goal is before Christmas. Because of this, any writing I start now will have to be put on hiatus for one and a half years... that is a really long time, and even then when I get back I might not be motivated to finish. That makes writing anything right now a huge challenge and very discouraging. But...
There is good news.
I have been talking, talking with people who I love and trust about this whole thing. And you know what? I'm gonna write. I am not going to let being gone scare me. I am going to post as much as I can before I go, and I am not going to give up on this upcoming story or other stories I've been writing. So expect stuff, maybe it's random, or not what you were previously expecting, but I am going to try my very best even with my busy work schedule to write stuff and post it for you guys before I go. This decision I have made to go on a mission means I have to sort of leave the fandom for a year, and I don't know if when it is over I will come back. So might as well go out with a bang. Plus if I put enough effort into this before I go, it might persuade my future self better to return to the world of ponies after being gone. Because I love this fandom! I love this show, and all it stands for, and the bronies who never let anyone get them down and choose friendship over enemies. YOU GUYS ARE THE BEST! And I want to give you all I got before I have to say good bye. You have changed my life so much, it's the least I can do.
So thank you. Thank you for the support, the faves, the upvotes, the follows, the hugs, the laughs, the tears, the brohoofs, and the love. You are all the best. Seriously, give yourself a hug for me. Or something... hugging oneself is kinda awkward.
So in conclusion, I'm sorry for the wait. I'm sorry you've waited all this time and I still got nothing. But I have been writing some stuff besides the big one that I can post for you to enjoy. It might not be totally edited, or even make sense, but it doesn't hurt to give you at least something to feast your eyes on. I'll do my best to be better. I am incredibly busy, and I can't access this website from my work. But I do write in the downtime, so I'll try to post that fluff for you all. Take care, my lovely followers. I hope this news isn't too much of a shock. I was too afraid to tell you, but someone inspired me to fill you all in. Give you all at least a little hope. Thanks to hanging in there.
