An Interactive Story · 3:36pm Jun 22nd, 2014
I'm thinking about doing an interactive story, because why the fuck not? Also, since I was a child, I've always loved video games where you make decisions which change the story (Mass Effect is my favorite game series and Bioware is my favorite game company), along with interactive visual novels, choose your own adventure stories, etc. I'm in the process of planning out exactly what I want to do story-wise, but I think I've figured out something that sounds fun. It'll basically go like this: each chapter, or at least every few chapters end with a decision. I make a poll with the choices. You vote for a period of time, a day or two? Then whichever choice has the most votes, the story is then adapted to. So it evolves and changes with you, the readers' choices. Does this sound fun and interesting? Would you participate?
Before anyone has the nerve to say it, because I've heard it often and it annoys me every single time. No, letting the reader make choices does not make the writing any easier for me, and it does not in any way make me an un-creative writer. It actually makes things more difficult. I could easily just plan out an entire story, adapting to my own will whenever I choose; but in this case, I can't. Yes, I'll have an end goal in mind, but I'll have no clue how I'm going to get there because the story is going to change with practically every single chapter. I have to adapt to these changes and decisions, but still reach that goal. Hell, depending on the decisions you make, that goal might not ever be reached, or completely change halfway through. I don't find that lacking in creative worth or that it'd be making me a lazy writer. If you believe that, then fuck you, seriously ;)

I would love to participate in this project.
I like storys with an idea like this one so count me in.
Sounds like fun. Count me in! :D
I really like these sort of multiple choice stories as well and those kind of games.
But there sadly aren't that many good ones that I know of.
