Attention, authors and war fanatics alike! War is coming! I say again, war is coming!
So recently, a friend and follower, That Hooded Fella (I still don't know what's under that hood...), started up a group here on FimFic as an experiment and a challenge. The group is called The Vault of War and focuses on a World War-esque theme in the MLP universe. Barebones, the many races and nations of the world have split apart out of greed, spite, and anger, and are all duking it out on a global scale. Really heavy stuff, and a great diving board into a world akin to the twisted little place I created. There's more information on the page itself, and more is going up daily.
Now here's where it gets interesting: all of the events that happen in this war are up to you. You, along with every other author in the group, create the events, the battles, the wins and losses... You determine who lives and who dies. You decide which side you want to write for or against. On top of that, writers are encouraged to build off of one another. If you like the way a particular author created the Zebra army, use it in yours. If someone enjoyed the way you burned Ponyville to the ground because you're a sadist, maybe Ponyville is a pile of ashes in several other stories too. Ultimately, the world is in your hands, and the fates of these great nations is yours. You create the records; you craft the history.
So what will your history be?
If anyone has ever wanted to dabble in writing warfare or anything dark, is just looking for something to do to brutally kill time or practice writing, or is just looking for a challenge, I heartily recommend you join up and take a look around. Everything's just getting up and running right now, so it's all pretty much a blank slate you can work with. And yours truly will be there as an admin to help moderate stories and guide anyone looking for assistance or someone to springboard ideas off of.

Hu...this looks interesting. Though with how long it takes me to write by the time I finish working with my griffins in your world I have a feeling that humans will be making colonies on other worlds before I get through chapter 3 in anything I might write for this group...but I'll still take a look I think.
