Made a new game or two. · 4:39pm May 18th, 2014
First off, for anyone interested in the Power Lottery Challenge, check [here]
Second off, a card game!
Do any of you have this deck of standard playing cards?
Any other deck of standard playing cards with ponies in it works, as well.
If you do, and you enjoy insane brainstorming for silly ideas, along with general hilarity, this is the game for you.
Rules for: Crack!Ship
Everybody is dealt 4 cards to begin with. Then, the top card of the deck is flipped over, revealing the first pony in need of being shipped.
The point of the game is to play a pony from your hand in order to form a shipping pair, and then justify the ship.
For example, if you start off with Pinkie in play, and you play Gilda, a possible justification is 'Making Amends'. You don't need to go in-depth, and everyone else at the table has to agree that it's a viable ship... or that they can at least imagine it. If you can't come up with a justification in a few moments, someone can steal the ship by coming up with a viable ship in time!
You can't repeat a previous justification from that game, though you can repeat ones you've heard in other games.
Remember to draw for every card you play. The idea is to go through the deck as quickly as possible. As well, there's no real 'win' per se, but it's still a lot of fun.
One last thing, these are shippings, not merely justifying them having a roll in the hay.
An example of play:
First card revealed: Pinkie Pie
Player 1[p1]: plays Rainbow Dash, 'Pranking Partners for Life'
Player 2[p2]: plays a second Rainbow Dash, covering Pinkie Pie. 'Mirror Pool Narscissim, or Loving Your Reflection'
p1: plays Gilda, covering a Rainbow Dash. 'Renewing an Old Flame'
p2: plays Twilight, covering RD. 'A Lesson in Friendship'
p1: plays Pinkie, covering Gilda. 'Uh, a lesson of... uhm...'
p2: 'Learning to Dance'
p1: yeah, that works.
Best of all, anyone can join in any time! just deal out 4 cards, and have them join in when their turn comes around.
Advanced Rules:
Threesomes: If a player thinks they can justify putting a third pony into the mix, they can choose to set out another pile, permanently requiring the rest of the game to need everyone to justify all three getting into a relationship together. Everybody's hand size is now five, instead of four.
Sleazy Dealings: If your group is up for it, start throwing in clop!ships as well, when you get to the Threesomes stage. This actually makes it easier, but the game tends to slink through the gutter for most of the round thereafter.
If you want a win condition, total up the points on the cards each time you ship. You get the total of all cards in the current shipping, with face cards worth 10 and aces worth 11. Once the deck is finished off, whoever has the most points, wins.
Finally, share any particularly noteworthy ships with your friends!
Tell me what you think of the game, below.
For some reason, that card game made me think of Cards Against Humanity...

It's like the opposite of CAH. Sorta. Any time we get to putting down Granny Smith, or the Cake Twins, we... we have to work really hard to make it justified in a non-squick way.

Suddenly I really want to see the Mane Six play a ponified game of CAH...
