Y'know something:
G1 would make an absolutely corking D&D setting if it weren't for all those stupid ponies cluttering the place up. I mean really: bushwoollies and an army's worth of dragons and those goblin thingies and a crazy old wizard guy who lives in a giant toadstool off in the woods.
If you've seen any G1 you probably know exactly what I'm talking about. If you don't, well, I don't blame you but it's weirdly enjoyable. (My favorite part was a lesson in cooperation, with musical number, from the villains.)
I made up:
A whole MLP role-playing game back in the late 1980s--all based on G1 since that's all there was at the time--and somehow convinced some friends to put together pony characters so I could run them through a scenario. I don't think we ever had more than a couple sessions, but folks seemed to enjoy it at the time...

That sounds like quite a feat of convincing.
Since you now count as a veteran RPer in my mind--whether that's warranted or not--do you have an opinion on Ponyfinder?

It's been:
Close to ten years since I was last involved in a D&D game, alas, and I'm completely unaware of Ponyfinder. So I'm guessing I'm not gonna be much help here.
