How About That Season Finale, Huh? · 5:21am May 11th, 2014
Well, looks like we've got another hiatus on our hands, folks. And that was...that was definitely something to end the season on. WOW. I never expected the writers to reach back into MLP lore and pull out a truly terrifying villain in Tirek. I'm a little disappointed that his brother didn't come back near the end and help Twilight in her battle, but DAMN, was it a battle anyway! The bright, colorful explosions got to be a bit hard on my eyes, but that's a relatively minor complaint in comparison to all the goodness that this finale held:
*Discord came back, and there was strong character development for him. We have confirmation that his reform, though successful, is still shaky--he has yet to really plumb the depths of friendship beyond Fluttershy. And holy crap, his guilty face c when he realized what he'd done to his friends...oh the FEELS. And he was sapped of his magic, too!
*Celestia SANG AGAIN (she must have a harmonizing angelic choir that waits on bated breath for those moments), and Luna sang for the first time (not bad) and Cadence did too (gotDANG where did she get that voice?)
*Twilight bursting through the library door with rogue alicorn magic was absolutely hilarious.
*RIP Golden Oaks.
*We got to see a major overarching story come together in a tidy little package with few loose ends! YAY!
*Tirek tasted the rainbow one shamelessly marketed band at a time.
I feel like I'm forgetting something...oh yeah!
Dislestia is pretty damn canon right now. You cannot TEASE me like this, I simply can't take anymore!
Anyway, now that Season 4 is over (and I have some new canon to play with), I will be working on more stories. The oneshot "Before You Judge a Dish" that I mentioned a couple posts ago should be up fairly soon. I may come up with some kind of Dislestia-themed response to the Season 4 finale because I ship those two like FedEx.
In terms of "feature-length" stories, I have a couple ideas brewing in my head. However, once I get around to writing them, I'll try to write a couple chapters ahead, if not the entire story, and update them on a regular schedule. I don't want to run into what happened with "Lingering Lunacy" again, because I fear the story lost a lot of potential heat due to space between updates.
So that's what I'm up to. I hope you all found something to enjoy about the finale, and I'll see you around my next story.
Until then,
Jadu
