    Progress Report V

Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since the last update here.

Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the newest chapter of Shining Dash since there is only two or three chapters that will be needed to wrap things up for this particular story-some of it is minor stuff like spellchecking and changing the original chapter title and italicize certain things.

    Progress Report IV

Chapter 33 of Shining Dash is nearly complete, the story is now in the territory of being in the last few chapters-if anyone is interested in having more stories take place this particular continuity feel free to let me know as I've been kicking around a few ideas in my head, but I don't want to spend all of the time and energy writing them if there isn't much interest-I feel like that would be

    CISPA/CISA is Back.

I wouldn't be writing about this on the heels of the TPP blog, but BOTH of these issues can adversely affect the internet and rights for those of us.

The last blog I warned you about the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership), but for those of us in the United States, CISPA has also returned under 'CISA' (The Cybersecurity Information System Act) .

    Trans-Pacific Partnership

Normally I don't like to get involved in political BS, but considering the brutally censorious nature of this thing (since I am heavily anti-censorship) , I've stopped writing to spread awareness of this thing and try to ensure that it doesn't pass.

I won't be deleting anymore stories, but.... · 10:51pm May 3rd, 2014

I don't think I'll be continuing Shining Dash for a while...so it's been put on hiatus partially because I don't think that those who are reading the story will like the next chapter since it doesn't really put too much focus on either lead (though one is significant in it.)

After looking through and deleting many of my old fics I've noticed that everything about my writing is terrible; the logic, the characterization, the plot development...

I don't think it's very good and my writing talent is too poor to make it halfway decent, so I think it's best if I just stop writing for a while until I learn how to do it properly.

Do you enjoy writing?

2074774

Yes, but that hardly matters if it isn't very good...

2075357 Not true good sir. Who are you writing for, yourself or the crowd? If it is the latter then you need to seriously re-think that. You should be writing for yourself because its something that brings you joy. Believe me, I know this more than anyone.

I almost quit on a story that I have been writing for almost a year, something I have poured blood, sweat and tears into. My hard-work and dedication resulted in a story that is 130K words and growing. Just three months ago, I was thinking the same thing you are: I suck at writing. A few people didn't like my OC and my first few chapters weren't very good. Right when I was on the cusp of quitting, a friend of mine reminded me of why I started writing in the first place, and he reminded me of the joy I got from writing for myself before I posted it on fimfiction. As soon as he gave me that wake-up call, you know what I did? I started writing for myself again, and I'm going to keep going until the story is finished and I start another one. I love writing, it brings me joy and is a very healthy hobby to have.

My point of all this is, start writing for yourself. When you start to tune out the negativity and just write for your own enjoyment, you will fall in love with your story all over again. You don't need to ignore constructive criticism, but don't let it get you down.

I'll tell you something about fimfiction, this site, as great as it is, makes some authors like yourself or me, start writing for the crowd. Don't appease the crowd, there is no way everyone can be happy, so don't try to do that.

I for one enjoy Shining-Dash, it's been a great story so far and I'm enjoying watching you writing grow with each new chapter. You're not a bad author, and whoever said that can go cry you a river, build a bridge, and jump off of it. :trollestia:

So don't get down, write, do what makes you happy. :rainbowdetermined2:
