One year anniversery of the first time a Flutter de Lis story was ever marked complete and a contest for a free copy of Frozen Synapse · 11:52pm Apr 20th, 2014
This nearly slipped my mind, but I remembered, before I got engrossed in the latest chapter of one of the stories I'm following. Anyway, remember Shortly before Christmas, 2012 when a little story called "The Model Caretaker" was published by an author who probably had about 30 or 40 followers tops and nothing really unique to his name? Well, it was finished one year ago today, after becoming my first story to have over 100 likes. It's still one of my most popular but since then it's set a trend for me, a trend of doing what I feel like doing regardless of what's popular (admittedly that includes a couple more Flutter de Lis stories, but I'm working on other concepts, such as Photo Shy and, in the planning stages, a Celestia x Fluttershy story).
Anyway, to celebrate this milestone, and save poor Zyr a bit of work, a short contest. The winner receives my free extra copy of Frozen Synapse. If you don't know it's essentially an online TBS where you and your opponents control otherwise mindless beings and have them try to kill each other. It's surprisingly deep and complex, and all you have to do to get one free copy (a 25 dollar value. You get a free copy when you buy one. There's still 17 hours left in the sale if you'd rather spend 5 bucks for it) is this: My next story involving the couple of Fluttershy and Fleur de Lis starts with them in a relationship (and has some rule 63 shenanigans, but that's for later) but I can't decide how they met or started dating. That's where you come in. What I want is an idea for how they met and began dating that is at least a bit more complex than "we met while Fluttershy was a model and I asked her out not long after she quit" and leaves Fancypants as around Fleur's age and on friendly terms with her and Fluttershy's friends (because he will have his own romantic subplot and I don't want to ruin it by turning him into a bastard).

Edit; Just noticed that I said this would be about one of those half-baked ideas I mentioned. Oops. I blame lack of sleep, but still, what I was originally thinking of, looking back, I didn't really need help with. I was just being a mild derp.
alright ill take a crack at this.
so they met at a formal function being hosted by rarity. rarity had all ger friends involved in some way or another but she had fluttershy provide atmosphere with her bird choir. fleur is of course there with her close friend fancy pants who is there to of course support rarity.
in my mind fleur is older and considerably more out going than fluttershy so when she finally gets a glimpse of the darling little pegasus thats been such captivating music she just has to aproach her and maybe get her to play for some of her own events. fluttershy is of course shy but with some encouraging from rarity(mostly as an excuse to get her into those events) she eventually accepts.
as fluttershy performs at these events she begins to develop some confidense in herself. shes still shy but no longer a doormat which i feel is needed for her to function in a relationship.
anyways as she keeps performing and spends more and more time around fleur she begins to fall for her. meanwhile fleur has noticed fluttershy coming out of her shell and likes it so with some prompting from sompony (rarity or fancy either works depending on their level of interaction with fleur) she asks fluttershy out.
the important distinction here is that fluttershy already has feelings for fleur while fleur only has a mild interest and maybe a little more than that on a physical level. so as the story goes on we see fleurs feelings solidify and flutters become stronger and more "sexual" as it evolves from a crush.
Well at the very least, do you know who the pony who isn't Fluttershy is?
