    Update on Discord's New Style

I had revoked the submission on Discord's New Style of Hypnotism with the intent to rework it. I know I could write a much better story off of the idea, but that's a lot of to do. As such, when I start writing for it again, the focus point will shift more toward the internal thoughts of the mane six to show more of the hypnotism aspect. The chapters I have already posted will remain, for the

    Writing Sins

I'm in college, majoring in English (and trumpet performance , but that isn't important right now). There are just certain writing mistakes that drive me absolutely crazy. I understand mistakes, everyone makes them, but I'm losing my mind over here. As such, I've compiled a small list of things that drive me crazy. Words are Power · 12:36am Apr 10th, 2014

Enchant me with your words.

I hate euphemisms for body parts is clopfics. That is not enchanting. That is disturbing, childish, annoying.

The Over use of "very".... Please be more specific. Instead of "very sad", how about, "despondent"?

Use colorful words! Describe the raw pain tearing a hole in your soul, or the tinkling laughter dancing through the air.

Description is everything. Word choice is life.

Emotions are not described by simple words. "Mad" does not tell me anything. Try something like "my soul was shattered, broken."

Prose is better that second grade sentences.

Words are power. Chose your words well. You have the power to make one cry, laugh, and hurt. But, chose poorly, and readers will roll their eyes.

hmmm I can agree to that...I really can

Bit of repetition with two descriptions with something happening to a soul.:ajsmug:
