Apple of her why me?

Okay! Jumping right to the explanation of the pun because I need to rant and rave to someone about this, and it may as well be the big empty hall of the internet that is my blog post. Skip to the next paragraph if you don't want to hear it. I hate computers, sometimes. God, do I ever. i actually had had this review all written up YESTERDAY because this was such a short story, but the my keyboard (and fingers) decided to screw with me as, when i went to hit the "w" key, my post was suddenly closed and lost. only when i inspected to find the malfunction, did i learn that i drag my palms on the base of the keyboard, so that when i struck the w, it was lost. I think this may need to be fixed, as i believe it may have been the cause of many other such "malfunctions". Also, I would like to ask that the administrators create a "Are you sure you would like to leave this page?" as is common on facebook when you have a bit typed up, so as to not have this happen again.
Anyway, now that I've gotten that out of my system, here's my experience with "Apple of her Eye" by milesprower06, the sequel to TCK also by milesprower06,
It starts out rather samey as far as clopfics go, (romantic ones, anyway) and it is quickly discovered by Rainbow Dash that she has feelings for her rescuer Applejack and it becomes obvious, even if you just picked this up without looking at the title (which is extremely obvious in its foreshadowing) and simply started reading it without knowing character or previous plot, it'd be pretty obvious where this is going. now, just because it's obvious (which it REALLY is) doesn't actually take anything from the story, and it's actually a very interesting little piece. that said, the relationship feels somewhat rushed for the romantic approach taken, although, if the author is to be believed, these feelings have been growing ever since.
It's actually a very good little fic, especially considering its length, and I like that the last bit doesn't jump right into it, and actually give wary readers a chance to back out. You know, those that don't read the clopfic/are disgusted by them/think they are the work of an extremely perverted mind (which they are) and should be shunned as such. (which they should not.) well, beyond that, I can't really say anything except to suggest that you read it. it's actually a decent fic that plays out a relationship that some people may have seen coming from miles off, and actually does a good job on it. The story could have used some stretching out (see "I Kissed a Mare" by "cursormortis" to see exactly what I mean. I'm not going to do a thing on that right now, but if i actually get some requests for it, I just might. a mailbag review, perhaps.) but that's just me, because I love long, drawn out, epic stories, though this certainly condenses the information in a neat, orderly fashion. in the end, i suggest it be read by those of my readers who can look past the "perversion" and look into the story and the relationship between the characters. not even kidding, completely disregard species, and just take it for a human story and enjoy.
Well, that's all for this review, but before i go and give you the links, i need to say my piece on something. Sexuality. Hold on! I know, you don't want to hear it, you just want to get to the story i provided and enjoy the tale, but first, i need to say something about this hatred for the "cloppers" that seems to permeate our little society, not sure if i've already said it, but here it is again, because some people don't seem to get it. There are NO actually ESTABLISHED sexual preference in ANY of the mane 6, besides Rarity for Spike, made obvious in ep 10 season 2. but besides that, they could all be lesbian, bi, straight, or even asexual. this is ridiculous the way i hear people making assumptions on these things, and it has GOT TO STOP. i get some people doing it as a joke, and realistically it shouldn't bother me, but the fact that some people get as defensive as they do about each pony's sexuality is honestly completely ridiculous. Anyway, that's me, saying my piece, short and sweet as it is, and hopefully I've gotten through some of the thicker skulls. anyway, here are the links!
