News: As of 20/03/14, I'm taking the fic down. A friend of mine has shed some light on the matter at hand, and after much thought, I've decided to pull away and scrap this story. Thank you for your time.
This fic was meant to highlight Maud's other side that Pinkie doesn't know about, which was actually supposed to be 'Maud carries the burden of a broken family ever since Pinkie left. While Pinkie knows her family disapproved of her decision, she still did so, and in returned, unknowingly harmed her own family."
Given Maud's nature, I supposed she was able to carry this huge family burden, as well as financial crisis. And she did try many other ways, unlike what one commenter said (it was rather implied), and had no other choice but to resort to selling drugs.
This fic was never meant to be about drugs, or how OOC Maud is in my story. Truth is, you can't call out OOC if a character is acting different given a hugely different situation. Consider Fluttershy. She's sweet and kind, but she can turn into FlutterRage if pushed too much. Is that OOC? I don't see why. So is Maud selling drugs out of desperation OOC, given the fact she keeps it to herself? I don't see why either.
