How the college's system works? · 3:56am Mar 11th, 2014
In México, you choose a career, then, the school. If you get accepted, they give you a list of subject-matter er... if you call it like that. Their are related (in some way) to the career of you election. And that's your life for the next 4-5 years. you don't live in a dorm, unless you have to travel to another city and don't have family there, but the school doesn't have dorms, you need to find a house or a room.
After you finish the most part of it or in some cases if you get to graduate, you get to do a social service. For 1 year (in some places you can get pay) you have to run from the working place to the school and vice versa. After that you get a degree (after completing some paperwork, and finish a thesis).
Kind of easy, if you ask me. But when I read some fic regarding college life, I used to read something like a mayor and a minor. And I am clueless about what that mean.
Can someone explain it? Thanks and sorry about the bad grammars and syntax mistakes.
Not sure since i'm not there yet
But i'm 83% sure this is how it works
When one goes to college, he or she will chose classes. Over time they will figure out what the what to do and take certain classes that pretain to that subject. For example, if one wanted to become a doctor, he or she ,ust major in chemistry, biology, ect., however, he may also be interested in art. Since art is not vital for becoming a doctor, the person may chose to minor in it.
This is a pretty baisic overview, but i how it helps.
