The Cupcake Spiller (yes, i know it's a terrible pun) · 6:57pm May 18th, 2012
I know you're wondering 'Why the crappy pun?", but hey, give me a second and calm the hell down and I'll tell you... geez you're impatient... First, I want to tell you that this blog post will (for like 2 posts, anyway) be the last story that can make you cry. hence the corny little pun. anyway, enough putting this off.
Our story begins shortly after the Running of the Leaves in APR in which Rainbow finally accepts what has happened to her up to this point, and she finally begins to cope with the emotional side of losing a good friend, especially considering the circumstances. depending on what makes you cry, it either happens at the beginning when she begins to cope with it, or near the end when the question of what happened to a certain pet during APR is answered. many "d'awwws" will ensue.
anyway, it's pretty obvious that this review is pretty short, but there's a reason for that. It's because there's a side story! now, usually i would give this it's own bit, but i feel that it actually deserves a little more recognition than TCK, because it was not by milesprower06, whom I've been ranting about all of this time. This particular story, "A Broken Lyre" by "alek4ever". this is the story of Lyra and her emotional recovery from the loss of her best friend Bon-bon, which was touched on in TCK, but truly did need expanding on. as a matter of fact, when I got into fanfics, my favorite, and still favorite, were the sad stories. but more on that after we're done with this storyline. I don't need to confuse you all!
ABL certainly deserves a certain amount of recognition, especially considering the subject material, where all he had to base his work off of was only a few lines of interaction, so this is clearly 100% from the soul of the writer, no ideas stolen here, from what I know. i commend him for his fantastic work off of nothing but a few exchanges of dialogue and really opening up Lyra's personality to us. I really think you should give it a read, as soon as possible!
Anyway, that's all for this installment, I hope you enjoy the stories as much as i did, and maybe even share your opinions with me?
which brings me to a pattern that you may notice in these past two posts, is that "Living the Dream" and ABL both have a somewhat... racy undertone, if for a short period in each. the reason i have brought this up is because the next installment in the series is, in fact, a clopfic, and I want to give you that little bit of warning now before I make that post. Okay? I'm still gonna focus on the storytelling and the attention to detail, etc. anyway, more details in the next post, where I will discuss! see you then!

P.S. those of you that are still interested hearing about my friend who turned my fandom on its head, his user page is right here! give him all your thanks for, indirectly, inspiring me to write this blog and share all of these fantastic stories with you!
P.P.S just a little FYI, I have literally an hour, maybe two every day at my public library on the weekends, so these posts will be coming a little slower, as i may have to read the subject story one day and write the post the next. as it is a 4 day weekend, expect maybe 2 posts.
