    Angry PMs

When I get angry PMs from authors whose stories I left a negative comment on, I always laugh. This one I got a few minutes ago is one of the funniest I've ever seen.

Planning a rewrite of Night Fury's Lament

Anyone remember that story? It was one of the first stories I ever wrote, and the first I ever finished. And it has a lot of problems. From edgy OCs, to HTTYD canon-defying moments, to confusing and absurd plot points, to suspicious contrivances and coincidences, and finally MLP characters acting wildly out of character.

Looking back on Trust in the Night

Even after the story has been dead for over a year, I still get PMs and comments asking me for updates on Trust in the Night. What I'd really like to know is why. I was idly thumbing through it the other day and I realised that it sucks. It sucks really, really bad. It has about the same writing quality as those crappy one-shots with the 'X Verbs Y' titles that you see in the

    Ergh

I said I'd start writing these more often. Here you go.

I just had to write a six and a half A4 page poetry response for homework. All in one night wherein I also had about a million other things to do and only an hour and a half with which to do them. Needless to say, I'm a very tired froggy right now.

Sylvia Plath and her depressing poetry will haunt me to the fucking grave.

    Infuriating authors

I don't make these things very often, in fact I'll probably start making them more often, but I'm a bit ticked off right now and that's going to leak into my writing and reviewing if I don't do something about it.

I cannot stand it when well-known and respected authors act in a juvenile and childish manner and no one says anything about it.

Another Big-ass Collab · 12:34am Mar 8th, 2014

Because Ascension and Pirates of Equus weren't enough for me. But this one looked so good I couldn't resist.

This one doesn't have an official name yet, as far as I can tell, but the working title is Rise and Fall of an Empire: The New Lunar Republic.

Can you guess what it will be about? To quote the author who came up with the idea:

We have seen numerous fanfics about the New Lunar Republic going against the Solar Empire but have there been any that explained how it happened? What was life like before the separation? What caused the separation? What goes on during the wars? What happens at the end?

For this collab, there are different roles. All are main characters, though there are special conditions that would allow you to play an OC. In that aspect, it's like a role play, but from what I can tell already, it's going to work similar to Ascension (which I don't actually think I've blogged about—should probably do that), in that everyone has a main character, that they work on developing and 'controlling' throughout the story, but the whole thing doesn't read as a massive role play mess where the plot is absolutely all over the place—just a story where different characters are written by different authors.

I've already managed to snag the part of best pony (Luna) for myself. But there are still a lot of slots left available.

You can sign up (and I strongly urge you to do so, because it is so obviously going to be awesome) in this thread. You'll have to do a writing exercise via PM to get in and get your chosen character, but that's it.

So what are you people still here reading this for? Go and sign up, because the New Lunar Republic/Solar Empire needs YOU!
