Okay, I've seen this around quite a lot recently, and it's a bit confusing to me.
Why does everyone in this fandom like Doctor Who? Don't get me wrong, it's a great show; I love it, though I've only seen the ninth Doctor so far. I just wonder where this whole thing started. Was is based on the Doctor Whooves appearance back in Season One? Or do these two fandoms just happen to overlap, the same way everyone who likes Harry Potter also seems to like The Hunger Games?
Either way, I approve...and so does David Tennant.

i honestly haven't seen an episode of Doctor Who, although i want to.
The bronies introduced me to Doctor Who, so maybe one fandom influences the other.

Might be a shared mindset, might just be a fair number of outspoken Whovians happen to be around, might be aliens, who knows.
All I can say for certain is that you need to watch the whole series ASAP, Eccleston is a great Doctor (especially for the intense moments) but Tenant is phenomenal and Smith is my favourite of the lot, between his fantastic exchanges with the companions and even minor characters (all hail Stormageddon, Dark Lord of All) and his big dramatic speeches (The Pandorica Opens is one of the greatest things I have ever seen in my life), he embodies everything that's awesome about the Last Son of Galifrey.

The funny thing is, I was a Whovian before I was a brony. And then I found out about MLP separately after that. Not together. Me is weird, aren't I? But yeah, I was wondering that myself a while ago. Maybe it's Doctor Whooves. I dunno. Heh. Funny story. I introduced my friend to Doctor Who, and he loved it. And then I told him to go search Doctor Whooves. And he came back and went "Huh?". So, I told to research it more. That was on a Friday. When I came back, I asked him about it. And he tried by himself. I didn't even suggest it. Meh. Research FTW. He said he liked it. And then, surprising me, he said he watched the entire season. He has Netflix, and this was before the second season came out. So, I told him there was a second season.
