I failed. · 7:27am Feb 25th, 2014
Despite all the pre-reads and editors that stepped in to help out with the project and gave it a thumbs up, The Pinkiemian Rhapsody flopped entirely. Apparently it took too long for the story to pick up the pace and lost viewers before it went anywhere. So... that's on me. I can promise for days that it has a really good overall plot, but such means nothing when poorly executed by my bland writing skills.
EQD rejected it after the first chapter and hardly anyone seems to be taking an interest.
Oh well.
Next project.
Hope I'll at least have better execution.
I'll be honest here. I lost interest in the later chapters for The Pinkiemian Rhapsody. And honestly, I can sort of agree with you. You took too long on it.
Strange that I didn't seem to see this in my feed. Well, I noticed it now. The same can be said for practically 100% of my stories. Except they didn't get a rating of a dozen likes and no dislikes. But then again, none of them particularly impress me. Some of them, I just didn't work on enough, such as The Other World. Others, I just rushed. Blazing Muzzles, I'm looking at it now, deleted all its chapters, and am unlikely to ever rewrite it.
I've got a new project now though. I guess that I can relate in a way to you.
Ehh, who needs fame? The story was awesome regardless

I have some ideas on how to shorten it, but... that maybe done in the future or never. Such work would take way too long right now. But, then again, I'd hate for my story's unique ending to be lost forever. I really did put a lot of thought into where the story goes, but not as much was put into how well I lead everything there. Now that I reread it more critically, only the last two chapters stand out; The last being the best. Most of everything else is really "meh". If you could ever force yourself to finish reading it, I'd love a fresh perspective on how to "trim the fat".
With the next story I'm already working on, I'm gunning straight for the point. Hardly any BS between important plot points. Going with quicker scenes and practicing using more amusing descriptions. Not lengthy. Amusing. Doing my best with showing over telling too. So far, It's turning out well. I think.
I do hope all this failure we're having just might give you some idea on how to handle your new work as well.
