Decisions, Decisions...

One of the hardest things I find with writing is where to go with it... plots, not the pony butt kind, but the story-related kind, are my worst area of writing. Most of my fanfics have no real goal/aim in mind when I start out on writing them. Mostly I let them shape themselves wherever the story naturally flows. Except when a fork comes in the road. And then there are two ways I can see a story going... and I usually end up writing both versions, sooner or later. Anyway, that's not always a bad thing... what is, is deciding which one is going to be the "Official" path of the story. Also, I suck at figuring out exactly how much story consists of a single chapter, or two chapters, not one. How does one usually work that out? How do the others determine the end of one chapter and the beginning of another? Sometimes, it is easy to see a clear shift/divide in subject matter and the start of another. Other times, it's not so clear. Grrrr.... writing can be so tricky sometimes, can it not? Also, my tendency to rehash/reword what essentially is the same thing being said, can be damn near impossible for me to catch myself, both in writing and in speech. I think it might relate to my mental issues. But who really knows? I love writing, but it is indeed quite a challenge! So do I have chapter two include the next little liaison with Gala and Big Mac? Or what? I can't decide! Grrr.... Maybe it should. I dunno. Also, to all the readers of GalaMac, I am willing to consider/cater to your wishes with the story... if you have any good suggestions of situations or scenes or plots that you would like to see, then let me know either here or in the commentary on the story. Okay? I make no promises that it will happen, just that I'll consider it and possibly work it in, if I think I can do it justice and that it wouldn't interfere with what I do have planned for the story. I welcome any such suggestions/ideas. For the record, I am going to say that Gala has probably only been with the Apples for a few weeks (two, maybe?) A month tops! So she doesn't know that much about them and they about her.

And the story takes place during the time that would be the equivalent of fifth season, so all that's gone on in season four and earlier is probably a done deal (unless it alters my own story plans and headcannon). And the Main Six are all twenty years old, with the exception of Fluttershy (who is 21) and Pinkie Pie (who is 19). Gala is 18 years of age.
Big Mac is 25, going on 26 (he'll have his bday sometime in the story). Cheerilee, Mayor Mare, Shining Armor and Cadance are all 27 or 28 years old. The CMCs would be about 15 years old now.
