Howdy readers!
This past week I was able to get a lot of writing done for Bon Hadescream. Unfortunately, it's not stuff I can publish yet! Most of the work was notes and story design, along with some prototypes for future chapters that simply didn't pan out. That's one of the invisible costs of writing. I never simply sit down at my computer and hammer out a perfect chapter in one go, it's always a labor of love. Love and editing. Lots of editing. As a matter of fact, chapter "L'éléphant (Part VI)" was edited together from about four discarded ideas that I was able to fold together into a cohesive narrative!
I've also realized that Bon Hadescream has, once again, become a far deeper and more demanding story than I intended. I don't mind it at all, but it does take more out of me to write. With that in mind, I've made some changes to the way I approach chapters, in the hope of keeping up a steady "two updates a month" unofficial schedule. I really want to increase the pace of release too, but I feel that releasing "large" chapters helps offset the wait between them.
Speaking of updates, I would like to have another one out on Monday the 17th, but I might have to push it to Tuesday if I can't get the right feeling from it. The current draft makes Octavia out to be a ravening psychopath rather than a cold, calculating Asset. Naturally, this is not desirable. Vinyl's the ravening psychpath, and she'll be popping back in very soon!
