Just watched the new Powerpuff Girls special.
As you can probably tell from this blog's name, I did not like it. One. bit. Reasons for this?
(SPOILER ALERT IF YOU WERE EVER GOING TO WATCH THIS)
1. The animation is crap. I've seen better animation in the 1970's Scooby Doo series.
2. The characters are OOC. Example: the girls want to buy a videogame. The professor says no at first. Then, wait for it...
They throw a tantrum. A freaking. Tantrum. Really? The Powerpuff Girls? (Please, if the girls have been shown in the original series to act like this before, tell me, and I shall redact this point.)
3. Mojo Jojo's ultimate plan and the episode's original plot. They don't line up at all.
The plot is that the girls get a videogame (a "Just Dance" parody, I think) that gradually tears them apart because Bubbles won't stop playing it.
(3a. Bubbles won't stop playing a videogame. Bubbles?!)
Anyway, they decide to stop playing the game and we find out that the professor used to have a passion to dance, which led him to find science somehow. But then Bubbles finds a new version of the game, made by Mojo Jojo. She gets mind-controlled by it and turns into a robot (no, I don't know how that's possible), and eventually the other two do as well. They all abduct these people that can break into the professor's lab.
So, the professor teams up with the Mayor and Miss Bellum (you know, the girl whose face you never see? No, you still don't see it in this version. Well, that's good, I guess) to face the robot girls in a dance-off. They fail miserably.
Then the girls see the professor crying and break out of their robot suits. Then, Mojo reveals his plan.
His plan is to make a baseball team. A freaking baseball team. Not even associated with dance at all.
So, that was the new Powerpuff Girls. And... I despise it more than Teen Titans GO!. I at least watch some episodes of GO!, but I do not plan at all to view anymore of this bull.
Thank you. Good-bye.
