A blog about nothing · 4:46am Jan 7th, 2014
Well, almost nothing.
I'm really bored right now... I've been watching Game Grumps all day because I couldn't make it to work. I literally could not pull my car out of the driveway. It's the winter apocalypse up here, guys. The snow comes up to my knees. And that was this morning. We've probably gotten another foot since. Plus, it's like -10 degrees and dropping fast. Bottom line:
Now some of you may be asking, "If you've been home all day, why haven't you been writing?" Well... I have been. Kind of. I like to make sure everything is fleshed out in my mind before putting words to paper. Chapter 2 of Mares of Tomorrow is almost at that point. I'll be starting on it tomorrow.
But back to the point... I am so BOOOORRREEEEDDDD. And I'm not tired. College is cancelled tomorrow due to the weather, and I want to enjoy my last night of freedom. Unfortunately, I have nothing to do. In light of this, I'm just gonna post a little blurb about myself. Because PR and the sort. Not that anyone is really going to care. Today's topic: music
I like to think I listen to a variety of music, including—but not limited to—Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Avenged Sevenfold, The Used, Rise Against, and a number of electronic/rave-y/wubwubwub artists. One genre in particular, though, has a place close to my heart. Or one artist, if I'm being technical. Said artist is Adam Young, better known as Owl City.
I'm wondering how many followers I lost with that statement...
It's really weird, though, because I didn't like him back in high school. Then again, I never really gave him a chance until entering college. And I can't really put my finger on why I like him so much, now. Perhaps it's because of his small town background and how overly normal it is. Perhaps it's his attitude and genuineness. Regardless, his music is a huge inspiration for me. If not Owl City, then definitely Port Blue, one of his lesser known music projects. He made music under the name Port Blue in the years before becoming Owl City, and every song is just... agggghhh! They're just so good! And they don't even have words! It's just ambiance, piano, orchestral, and/or a little electronica. If I had to describe listening to a Port Blue song to anyone, I'd compare it to entering a trance. Just... just listen for yourself.
And there you have it. A little factoid about myself. I'm an Owl City fanboy. Sue me.

None at all, you beautiful bastard.

Why would your name be here?

You'd be surprised with how many people hate Adam Young's guts. I've met more than my fair share. We often get into heated arguments, whereupon I
viciously dismember thempoint out the error of their ways using facts and examples.
