> Work on a one-shot fanfic, with the intent to enter it in a contest
> Announce said intent in a blog post
> Lose all inspiration for fanfic within a few days
> Suddenly gain inspiration for a different fanfic, one you've had the idea for since August but never started
> Write a little under 5,200 words in a week
So yeah, that sure is a thing that happened. o_O
I've just completed the rough draft of my Sparity contest entry! I'm letting it sit for now, and tomorrow during/after work I'll look over it and make sure there's nothing I want to change before I hit Submit. The title is "Change For You", and here's the summary:
Rarity never thought she'd fall for a dragon, much less be blissfully happy dating one, but ever since Spike grew into a sweet and handsome young drake, she's been completely and helplessly besotted. Recently, though, he's seemed distant, uncomfortable around her--or worse, unhappy with her. With the prospect of losing the love of her life hanging over Rarity's head, will she resort to drastic measures to become what he desires? And how will her darling dragon react if she does?
I'm also hoping I'll have time to draw the cover art for it before I submit it, but if push comes to shove I'll add that in later. It's not vital, after all.
2014's almost here, huh? I have a feeling it's going to be a good year, creatively. I'm gonna make it so, in fact. Have a happy new year, everyone, and good luck to my fellow contest competitors!
Looking forward to it!
That's what:
We all wanna hear!
