What do you think: Battlefield 4
I haven’t heard anyone say otherwise, so I’m going to press ahead with my game reviews. For those of you who are interested in my stories, fret not. I’m getting together with a friend of mine and resume work on Keepers of the Night. I’ve been waiting for a collaborator, since doing that much world building was a much bigger calling than I thought it would be. Now, onwards to todays game.
For your reading pleasure, I have chosen to voice m opinions on the other blockbuster shooter that came out this year, and that of course is Battlefield 4. I picked up Battlefield 3 after a couple months of playing Black Ops 2, and I at first I was overwhelmed by the experience. My first game I played I believe was Caspian Border Conquest, and I had a hard time wrapping my head around how big the maps were. It was intimidating, but after a few days, I was hooked. Battlefield was my jam.
Fast forward to the present day and I am happy to say the BF4 has delivered BF3 and then some. The weapon balance is infinitely improved, but that’s the soft bigotry of low expectations. I haven’t felt people get cheap kills by using the M16A3 overpowered weapons, although it still heavily encourages the use of Assault Rifles. DICE have also nerfed DMRs for some reason. They’re three shot kills now, and I’m not entirely sure why. Battlepacks are weird as well. I find myself chasing them, but I never get anything useful or cool. Overall though, the gunplay feels fair. Also suppression is gone! WHOOOOO!
I haven’t tried much of the new modes, although Obliteration is a blast (so punny). There is an excessive amount of camping, and I attribute that to scared CoD players who are intimidated by the map size. Also, Recon snipers who think they’re playing the class, but in fact they’re just cowards. I should stop ranting and get back to the review.
The campaign is meh. They encourage you to play by giving you weapons for multiplayer, but I really wish they’d brought back co-op for that. The campaign seems to be chasing CoD for the number of explosive set pieces it can stuff into a campaign. Massive map destruction is what BF multiplayer is all about, but it feels shoehorned into the campaign. At least it was better than BF3.
Overall, I love the game. The multiplayer is fun, the gunplay is balanced, and at least when I played the hit detection worked (most of the time). I highly encourage you guys to get this game. DICE deserves the support, even if EA doesn’t.
I played battlefield 3 and wasn't that into it. Halo 4 life!!!!

If you played it on Xbox, that's why it sucked. BF3 was really meant for PC.
