It's amazing how time passes quickly when you're supposed to be doing something. Procrastination just makes the days fly right on by, doesn't it! For example, I thought I would take a little break after uploading the last chapter of Lyra Heartstrings, and whaddya know, it's been three weeks since I've written anything.
Three freaking weeks?! How the hell did I let time slip past me like that?! Heck, I used churn out a chapter every two days, with two chapters being edited right behind that one! And now it's taken me well over a year to write one story. A story that's not even really a focus on anything, it's out of my normal genres, and it doesn't even have that much attention on it. Jesus, I think I'll just do a few more short chapters and just wrap that one up. You ever noticed that in some books? You'll be in the thick of the plot until about ten or fifteen pages until the end, and things are very suddenly resolved, like the writer just got sick of doing it and decided to just do the climax already and make the resolution go by as quick as he possibly can make it go.
I've . . . I've gotten off track. Reality has rang the bell and I can no longer ignore it. I have got to get a damn job and get back to school.
Also, saw the new Hobbit movie last night; Peter Jackson is officially an asshole now.
Why? If you don't mind, that is.
Not like me then. Whenever I'm doing absolutely nothing, time seems to move a hundred times slower than a snail's pace to me.
Also, if it makes you feel better, I think it is best if you stop writing fanfictions to focus on your real life after wrapping up Lyra vs Terra.
I am a little curious myself as to the Peter Jackson comment. Unless you are talking about it ending with the cliffhanger.
Damn it. If you need to get back on track you should do so. We may like the stories but if it comes at the price of you not getting what you need in life then that is just wrong.
Just focus on what you need to do. Then worry about what you want to do. Last I checked the internet was designed to still be here even if something catastrophic happened. You can always start writing again if you feel you are getting back on track and a little less stressed.
1615016 Did you see "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug"? That movie took everything that was awesome about the Lord of the Rings and basically shat on it. Huge portions of the movie were written in and filmed solely because they would look good in 3D. And the way it cut out right in the middle of a big fight was just awful! There were romantic subplots that had no business being there, tie-ins and cameos from the Lord of the Rings franchise that just killed the moment, and finally (and I count this as really important) NO TOM BOMBADIL!
That movie was simultaneously half an hour too long and half an hour too short. The movie spent so much time focusing on slapstick comedy and pointless 3D effects that it forgot to tell the story. And the barrel-riding scene was just so bad.
I hear that I procrastinate daily! It's good for the toes.
