Now I'm sure after reading over my bio you're all wondering why some one like me even likes a show that's aimed at girls 3/4ths my age. The answer to that is quite simple actually, it's a good show through and through. Its not mindless drivel like most cartoons and TV shows on now a days and actually has a point to it. Unlike cartoon network whose quality has drastically fallen since my childhood and airs shows that are not only inappropriate for their audience, but mind rottingly stupid, the Hub (despite being owned by a toy company) is aimed at families and actually does just that by producing such shows as MLP:FIM.
Now let's be honest here, how many of you feel that the world is going to tartarus in a wicker hand basket dosed in gasoline? If you do than you probably understand why MLP is so good. Its a happy show full of innocence and hope that tries to pass off the basic moral codes that every decent pony should have as light hearted entertainment. And you know what? It works, really really well. It reminds me of my filly hood (before life kicked me in the face with a steel toed boot) back when things weren't so bad and idiocy and vanity weren't things to be idolized. On top of that there's the excellent script writing, amazing animation (they're so adorable it even melted my icy heart), and in my opinion superb voice acting. You also can't forget how extremely funny most episodes are without having to resort to low brow and dirty humor that most everything else does in order to get ratings.
Of course I'm probably being a hypocrite by writing this considering I myself resort to using dirty jokes and gratuitous amounts of violence in most of the stuff I write. I also said I had no interest in being deep, but here I am writing about the merits of a children's show. Despite that Twilight and all her friends will always have a special place in my heart even though it's as black Princess Luna's night sky. So there you have it, a convoluted explaination as to why some pony as insane as I am likes this show.

Glad to read why you like it. They are the same reasons why I like the show and I'm a 50+ year old guy. The show really helps when I look at reality sometimes and want to kick the **** out of stupid, vain people or those who hire me as an expert then refuse to listen to what I need to say to them. Also, have to say I like your stories, and your sense of humor, they help on the tough days. Thank you for being part of the community, and hopefully I'll enjoy more of your stories.
