An Update on "A Cherished Storm" (5/01/12) · 1:37pm May 1st, 2012
I have a lot of news to talk about relating to A Cherished Storm.
Firstly, as you may have noticed, the cover picture is finally done! I had quite a journey with this thing... Shortly after the release of chapter one, I started working on a concept for the cover picture... I went into Garry's Mod and posed the pony models the way I wanted and had a friend take pictures of them so he could draw it for me. The picture was okay for concept, but was not what I wanted... That took about a week. I turned to another friend to work on it, and got something back two weeks later... It wasn't how I had the concept... At this point, I had released chapter four and still had nothing for the cover picture. Desperately, I turned to one more friend, who got back to me half a week later and told me he couldn't handle it because of college.
At this point, I started rethinking how to do things... After chapter five was released, I finally decided to work on the picture myself, even though I wasn't an artist and didn't have a tablet to draw with. Two weeks of mixing writing and art later, I finally was able to complete it... and I am absolutely proud of it! It's not professional, but it's the best I've ever done.. It's now released, and I'm happy with it!
Secondly, speaking of the cover picture... It was all I needed to submit the story to Equestria Daily! Just an hour ago, I sent my submission email to them. I am very nervous about it, but I'm excited. I hope it gets through!
Lastly, when working on the submission email, I realized I needed to list all my main characters for the story, even if they're not necessarily acting as main characters this early on in the story. I went in to edit my story and add the full list of characters, and noticed that what used to be a limit of ten characters listed is now down to five characters listed. This presents a MAJOR problem for me.. I can't list all my characters now. So, I have sent a message to a mod, asking them if I could have an extension to the list... Hopefully that gets through.
Anyway, that's pretty much all the news I have now! Thank you everyone for reading the fanfiction, and hopefully you're enjoying it! I know that the story is now taking a turn from how it first was, so hopefully it's okay for everyone.
That reminds me, I added the tag "Comedy" to the story. I found out that it is okay to have dark and comedy tags together, so I'm taking advantage of that, since there are a lot of funny moments in the story.
