New Story Released - Never Stop Smiling · 8:46pm Oct 31st, 2014
Hello, everyone, and welcome to another blog post! Today I would like to introduce my new story: Never Stop Smiling!
This story has been written and scrapped half a dozen times since I first thought to write it two years ago. Back then it was very different from how it is today. Where this story follows Pinkie Pie, before it would have followed Rainbow Dash... In a way, if I wrote my idea from back then, it would actually serve as a prequel to this story... No, that doesn't mean a prequel to this story is confirmed... It will never happen. A sequel, though? ...Maybe?
Anyway, getting back on track, this story had been written in the first-person and the third-person, and I never could feel fully satisfied with it. Eventually I just scrapped the story and put the idea back on the shelf. Through every story I've written since then, I've always had that story in my mind... I felt it was time to give it another go.
Here's a little bit more history: I was given a link to some art that featured Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, and I asked a question: What happened? I wanted to answer that, so I came up with a story. Click here to see that art.
The art was new, and I asked permission if I could use the art as the cover for a story based on it. I got permission, so I got to work. A week later, I almost released it, but stopped when I realized I wasn't happy with it. I delayed and decided to rewrite it. During that second draft, someone else released a story based on that art, using the art as the cover. I had friends read it and tell me if my version was anything like it. It was different enough, but I didn't want to release a story with the same art and name as one that had been released, so I stalled. That led to the hiatus of the story.
Now, a couple years later, I've finally decided to work on it again, and I'm liking this version infinitely more than my previous attempt. Of course, the general idea of not wanting to feel like a copy of someone else's story was still there, so I had new art made for it... I kept the title. I liked the title. So, that's a little history lesson for this story. It's one of my oldest ideas, and I'm glad to finally have it coming out! Originally this was going to be a one-shot, but I decided to go with a multi-part story where each chapter is shorter. Hopefully it's a good format for people!
Anyway, I hope y'all enjoy the first chapter, and I hope to be quick on releasing the rest!
