    Harlan Ellison turned 80 today

I got a bit of a scare when I opened Tor.com today and saw a sketch of Harlan Ellison. Usually when David A. Johnson draws a picture like that for the blog, it's because someone important to SF/F has recently died. Luckily, it was really his eightieth

    Couple more plugs

First off we have a nice Slice of Life story by Snapp Apple called Invasion of the Candy Snatchers! Don't let the Dark tag scare you away; there's zero violence and it's about as scary as the first story arc of the IDW comics. Also, I should probably mention that

Yet another story tagging feature test blog · 4:47am Dec 3rd, 2013

So it seems I forgot to credit my editors in the author's note of Lulamoon. :twiblush: I figured what with the return of story tagging for blogs, now would be a good a time as any.

*clears throat*

To Garnot, Writer's Block, Josh Meihaus, Amacita, StapleCactus, and Mattricole, thanks for helping me make The Wings of Lulamoon into something that doesn't bore people to tears.

Oh, and I guess I should also thank TacticalRainboom and MintyRest (and friend) for telling me that the horrid abomination that is the original version of Lulamoon was in desperate need of a rewrite.

As for chapter two, I've made a little progress...

*sighes*

It was hard for me to even comprehend the fact that Lulamoon hit the featured box. That story did better than any other I had written before it. I wish I had known how hard it is to actually deal with success. That little flag at the bottom of the screen flashes every few seconds, and you feel a tiny burst of joy. But then the rush ends, and you're left with the realization that you still have to write the later chapters for the story that you had just finished editing...

Right now, I'm sitting here with half of chapter two written. I'm leaving for a trip to Florida on Friday, so I'll try very hard to finish the first draft of it by then. Luckily, I'll still have a way to write while I'm there.
