Should I retcon my Fanfics?

Hi everyone. I know I haven't posted a lot, but I've been working on my game development more than my writing this year.

Anywho, my most popular fanfic, Fluttershocked was written mostly in the gap before the season two finale. As such, the squeal story, Applejacked was my ideas on how season 3 would play out if had continued on from my version of events in my fanfic. Now that we actually have a season 3 to reference, I was thinking about changing some details to make it align more with the show. Notably, I would have Twilight as an alicorn in the end.

What do you think? Should I change things or let it be?

Why? Just leave it as is. As a fanfic it already changes established canon and characters. It's a totally separate entity.
