Thor: The Dark World · 11:59pm Oct 31st, 2013

Since I have been blessed with advanced screenings, I have recently witnessed Marvel's next biggest blockbuster, Thor: The Dark World.

After his defeat at the hands of Bor, the at-time king of Asgard, the Dark Elf leader Malekith is out to find an ancient weapon which would've won him the war, the Aether.

In the present, Loki is returned to Asgard and is sentenced to life imprisonment, while Thor is out cleaning up all the messes his brother made. At the same time on Earth, Jane Foster is at it again, this time she has located a spot where the laws of physics are out of whack. While there, she is sucked into a vortex, where she discovers the Aether and it enters her body.

With the weapon now awake, and with Thor bringing Jane to Asgard for treatment, Malekith makes his move to get the weapon and destroy the Nine Realms...

I'm just gonna say this:
If Thor had won an Oscar... then this one should've won 5!

Words really cannot describe this movie, but I'll try my best.

The most improved thing from the next film is the pacing; Thor had the speed of a pilot tv series episode, this one however flows without a hitch; all the action is used at the most appropriate times and it still gives time for the audience to breathe.

Another thing stepped up is the humour, the first film barely had me reacting with anything above a crack up. This one almost got me to laugh out loud; for example, remember Loki's shapeshifting spell? At one point, he starts annoying Thor with it, turning himself into a guard, then turning Thor into Sif, and for added laughs, turning himself into Captain America (Chris Evans fully suited from Avengers Assemble).

Not to mention, the casting is brilliant! Newcomers include Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Algrim, who really shows the true Dark Elf warrior with his first few scenes. Zachary Levi has replaced Joshua Dallas as Fandral due to scheduling conflicts, but becasue he was just in it for a few scenes, I didn't really notice much. Benicio del Toro, as The Collector, who will also appear in Guardians Of The Galaxy and they got Christopher Eccleston as Malekith; in my opinion, he was the perfect choice for the role, 'nuff said.

So all in all, Thor: The Dark World is a true Marvel Masterpiece, and I most definately recommend it.

I give Thor: The Dark World a 9/10 with the title of GROUNDBREAKINGLY AWESOME!

Okay, so what's next?
